INSTRUCTIONS TO: USE; SAFETY; INSTALLATION; PROGRAMMING
ELECTRONIC TUBULAR MOTOR build in receiver eRS4
JE40R4
1-1 INTRODUCTION, ADVISE FOR INSTALLER AND USER
The radio motor JE40R4 (eRS4) has been designed to be installed with roller shutters in aluminium or pvc
window shutter box and traditional roller shutter system.
• Automatic anomalous resistance detection, in its upwards movement by freezing or slats displacement.
• Rolling Code system. 433.92 MHz.
• Easily set up limit switch midpoint.
• Programming new transmitters, through the original one.
• Possibility to connect to unipolar pushbutton.
Dear customer please read carefully following advice in order to guarantee the correct operation of the motor
and safety of people.
• Keep remote controls away from children.
• Watch the moving shutter/awning and keep people away until it stops.
• Frequently examine the installation for imbalance and signs of wear or damage. Do not use if repair
or adjustment is necessary.
• Disconnect the rolling shutter/awning from the power supply when maintenance work such as window
cleaning is carried out nearby.
INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN LEAD TO SEVERE INJURY BEFORE INSTALLING THE MOTOR,
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
• The connection of the power supply cable is a “Y” type one. If the power cable of the motor is dam-
aged,itmustbereplacedeitherbythemanufactureroritsaftersealsassistanceorbyaspecically
qualied persons in order to avoid any hazard as specic tools are required for such purpose.
Otherwise any guarantee will be declined.
• Additional components for the implementation of the installation, such as adaptors and brackets
must be chosen among those offered by the producer “Jolly motor españa, s.l.” through its sales
network. These products are listed in the catalogue supplied on request.
• Our motors are exclusively designed for moving various types of rolling shutters and awnings in pri-
vate homes. The manufacturer must expressively give prior approval to any other use of the motor.
• Before installing the motor remove any unnecessary cords and equipment not required for motor-
ized operation.
• Our motors are correctly designed and operations are compatible with the characteristics of the
operated parts, only if the operating loads comply with: “Application diagram for rolling shutters” and
“Application diagram for sun awnings”.
• Thesupplycablemustbecarefullyxedinordertoavoidcontactwithanymovingpart.
• Anyscrewsusedtoxtothetuberollingshutters/awningsmustinnowaytouchthemotor.
• The motor must be safeguarded from any water contact.
• The adapter ring that operates the limit switch (see picture detail 4 in below illustration) must not
bedrilledorrotatedbeforeinstallationandmustbeperfectlytinsidetherollertube(picturedetail
10 in below illustration).
• Themovingpartsofthemotorinstalledataheightlowerthan2.5mfromtheoormustbeprotected
from access.
• When installing an awning, leave a space of at least 40 cm between the completely opened awning
and any other object.
1-2 ELECTRIC CONNECTIONS
WARNING:
• The connection to the supply line (in the switchboard) must be made by a two-poleswitch with an
opening distance of 3mm between contacts.
• The gear motor is made for intermittent working. However, it is provided by an internal thermal
protection, which stops the power supply in case of overheating, for example after continuous op-
erations (more than 10 non-stop). The motor re-functioning happens after a time not lower than 10
minutes, at the end of which the thermal protection resets itself automatically. But, after this reset-
ting, the motor can function at a reduced rate; the normal functioning will be possible only after a
complete motor cooling (about 60 minutes).
• The antenna cable on the limits switches unit (on the side of the power supply cable), has to be
located inside the roller box in order to stretch it as much as possible, avoiding the contact with parts
in movement. If necessary stop the position using some plastic clamps.
• For motor installations where the cable is outdoor, the special 05RN-F cable must be used (to be
requested from the manufacturer), or else it is necessary to protect the standard P.V.C. cable (that
is supplied with the motor), by inserting it in special protection tubes (conduits) to protect it from the
weather and the sun radiation.
• If the electricity supply cable of this motor is damaged, it must be replaced only by a repair centre,
recognised by the manufacturer, as it is necessary to use special equipment. In cases where such
indications are not adhered to, the guarantee will be rendered invalid. It’s dangerous to replace the
cable, it must be replaced only by a repair centre.

which can be supplied on request.

1-3 SAFE MOTION AGAINST OBSTACLES: in upward movement
Using the radio motor JE40R4, you
are adding higher security to your
roller shutter
If the roller shutter, its slates, guides or any other component is frozen
