Congratulations on purchasing the Hamax bicycle child seat.You now have
a comfortable and safe child seat that can be adjusted to fit your child as
she/he grows. The child seat is approved for children from about 9 months
to 6 years or You should check from time to time maximum 22 kg weight.

路 Please read the instructions carefully before assembling or using the child
seat.
路 Keep these instructions in a safe place as they will be useful if you later
buy extra equipment for your child seat.
TECHNICAL POINTS
Range of application:
路 Can be mounted on bicycles with frame tube
diameters from 28-40 mm.
路 Cannot be mounted on bicycles with oval or
square down tubes.
路 Cannot be mounted where the luggage carrier
is wider than 155 mm.
(but the luggage carrier could be removed
before fitting the child seat).
路 Cannot be mounted on cycles fitted with shock
absorbers.
路 Can be fitted to bikes with and without a
luggage carrier. If you are in any doubt that the
seat will fit, we recommend you seek
information from the bicycle鈥檚 supplier.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
路 Make sure the bracket screws are well
tightened and check them at regular intervals.
路 The child seat is fitted on the frame tube of the
bike with the bracket (7). See picture E. The
screws must be tightened hard enough to fix
the seat securely and prevent it from sliding.
Make it a rule to check this before starting a
trip with the bike.
路 Be aware that the load of a child in the child
seat may alter the bicycle鈥檚 stability and
handling characteristics, particularly when
steering and braking.
路 Do not attach extra luggage or equipment to
the child seat, as this could lead to the total
load exceeding 22 kg. We recommend that
extra luggage is attached at the front of the
bicycle.
路 When a child is in the child seat, the bicycle
MUST ALWAYS be supported by an adult.
路 Make it a rule always to check the safety belt is
properly fastened, even when bicycling without
a child in the child seat.
路 If the child seat is involved in an accident or
damage, contact your dealer to check that it
can still be used. Damaged parts must always
be replaced. Contact your dealer if you are not
sure how to fit the new parts.
路 Never make your own changes or modifications
to the child seat parts or the mounted child
seat. This will automatically invalidate the
guarantee and the manufacturer鈥檚 product
liability will lapse.
路 To take a child on a bicycle, the rider must
normally be over 16 years. Check your national
laws and regulations.
路 Always make sure that the child鈥檚 clothes or
body parts do not touch the moving parts of
the bike. This must be checked continuously as
the child grows. Moving parts that must be
checked include wheels, wires and seat springs.
To prevent children trapping their fingers in the
saddle springs, we recommend you fit a spring
guard. The child seat gives good side and feet
protection. However, you are recommended to
buy and fit a closed wheel guard/chain guard.
You can buy this at your bicycle dealer.
路 Check there are no sharp objects, such as split
wires, on the bicycle that can harm the child.
路 When cleaning the seat, use only lukewarm
soapy water.
路 Always remove the child seat when
transporting the bike on a car.
路 Make it a rule to always check the brakes of
the bike, gears and other functional parts
before starting on a bicycle trip.
- Remember to put the child鈥檚 helmet on
before starting your bicycle trip.
KEEPING YOUR CHILD HAPPY!
路 Remember that the child seat can get very hot
standing out in the sunshine, so check the child
seat before placing your child in it.
路 A child sitting in a child seat should be dressed
more warmly than the rider. It can be smart to
always bring waterproofs garments for the
both of you.
路 Remember to put on the child鈥檚 helmet on
before starting your bicycle trip.
Tip! With an extra bracket you can easily move
one seat between two bicycles.
