Wir beglückwünschen Sie zum Kauf dieses AXTON Gehäusesub-

woofers. Lesen und befolgen Sie diese Installations- / Bedienungs-

anleitung genau, um das volle Klang- und Leistungspotential dieser

Komponente auszuschöpfen. Bewahren Sie die Bedienungsan-

leitung für allfällige, vielleicht später auftauchende Fragen auf.

Schliessen Sie das Lautsprecherkabel Ihres Endverstärkers an die

abnehmbaren Anschlussklemmen des Terminals am Seitenteils

Ihres Subwoofers an. Das Subwooferchassis des ATB120QB

arbeitet mit einer sogenannten Doppelschwingspule, im An-

schlussdiagramm als VC1 und VC2 bezeichnet.

Damit sind folgende Anschlussmöglichkeiten verfügbar:

EINSTELLUNGEN AM VERSTÄRKER

Der verwendete Verstärker sollte einen 12 dB/Okt. Tiefpassfilter

mit einem Regelbereich von < 70 bis > 100 Hz besitzen. Falls der

Verstärker darüber hinaus mit einem Subsonicfilter ausgestattet

ist, stellen Sie diesen auf ca. 30 - 35 Hz, um subsonische Fre-

quenzen herauszufiltern.

Für die Anpassung der Eingangsempfindlichkeit des Verstärkers

wenden Sie sich bitte an dessen Betriebsanleitung. Generell gilt,

dass der Bass auch bei voller Lautstärke nicht übersteuern darf.

Verstärkerleistung (durchgebrannte Schwingspule) etc.

2. schädlichen Einwirkungen von übermäßiger Feuchtigkeit,

Flüssigkeiten, Hitze, Sonneneinstrahlung oder übermäßiger

Verschmutzung.

3. mechanischer Beschädigung durch Unfall, Fall oder Stoss;

Schäden durch nicht autorisierte Reparaturversuche oder nicht

durch den Hersteller ausdrücklich autorisierte Modifikationen.

Die Garantie dieses Produkts bleibt in jedem Fall auf die Reparatur bzw.

den Ersatz (Entscheidung beim Hersteller) des jeweiligen Produkts

beschränkt. Schäden durch unsachgemäße Verpackung oder Trans-

portschäden werden nicht durch diese Garantie gedeckt. Jeder über

diese Garantie-Erklärung hinausgehende Anspruch und jede Haftung

für direkte oder indirekte Folgeschäden werden ausdrücklich abgelehnt.

ANSCHLUSSPOLARITÄT / AKUSTISCHE PHASE

Finden Sie nun die phasenrichtige Polung Ihres Subwoofers her-

aus. Ein Subwoofer, der akustisch nicht in Phase zum Frontsystem

spielt, klingt aufgrund der entstehenden Schallauslöschungen im

gewählten Übergangsfrequenzbereich schlapp und lustlos. Ein

simples Umpolen des Lautsprecherkabels am Anschlussterminal

des Subwoofers zeigt akustisch jene Anschlusspolung auf, welche

akustisch in Phase spielt: Der Bassbereich wird lauter oder einfach

satter wiedergegeben – dies ist die richtige Anschlussvariante.

Sollten Sie dem Stereoanschluss folgen, achten Sie bitte darauf,

dass Sie die Umpolung bei VC1 und VC2 vornehmen. Ansonsten

droht ein Verbrennen der Schwingspulen, da diese gegeneinander

arbeiten würden.

Nun folgt ein letzter Durchgang zur Feineinstellung der Basswie-

dergabe durch feine Anpassungen der Trennfrequenz und der

Eingangsempfindlichkeit am Verstärker. Generell führt eine zu

tief gewählte Trennfrequenz an Ihrer Aktivweiche zu einem tief-

basslastigen und drucklosen Klang, während bei einer zu hohen

Trennfrequenz die Wiedergabe zum Dröhnen neigt.

Congratulations on your purchase of this AXTON enclosure sub-

woofer system. Please read and follow the provided installation

and operating instructions carefully, to benefit from the max. sound

quality and performance this component is capable of. Keep the

instruction manual for any questions that may arise later.

Connect the speaker cable from your power amplifier to the detach-

able terminals on the side panel of your subwoofer. The subwoofer

chassis of the ATB120QB works with a so-called double voice coil,

referred as VC1 and VC2 in the connection diagram.

Thus, the following connection options are available: WARRANTY CONDITIONS

Warranty Limitations

This warranty does not cover any damage due to:

1. Speaker overload due to excessive or distorted amplifier power

(burned voice coil) etc.

2. Exposure to excessive humidity, fluids, heat, direct sunrays or

excessive dirt or dust.

3. Accidents or abuse, unauthorized repair attempts and modifications

not explicitly authorized by the manufacturer

This warranty is limited to the repair or the replacement of the defective

product at the manufacturer´s option and does not include any other

form of damage, whether incidential, consequential or otherwise.

This warranty will not cover any loss during transportation, transport

costs or any other damage caused by transport or shipment of the

product.

AMPLIFIER ADJUSTMENTS

The utilized amplifier should have a 12 dB / oct. Low Pass Filter

with a control range of < 70 to > 100 Hz. If the Amplifier is also

equipped with a subsonic filter, set this to about 30 - 35 Hz, to

filter out subsonic frequencies.

For adjusting the input sensitivity of the amplifier please refer to

its operating instructions. The general rule is that the bass should

not overdrive even at full volume.

ACOUSTICAL IN-PHASE CONNECTION

Now find out the in-phase polarity of your subwoofer. A subwoofer

that is not acoustically in phase with the front system plays sounds

limp and listless due to the resulting sound cancellations in the

selected crossover frequency range. On simply reversing the

polarity of the speaker cable at the connection terminal of the

amp, the subwoofer shows acoustically that connection polarity,

which is acoustically in phase: The bass range is getting louder

or just fuller reproduced - this is the right connection variant. If

you follow the stereo connection, please make sure you do the

polarity reversal at both VC1 and VC2. Otherwise, the voice coils

threaten to burn, as they would work against each other.

Now follows the final step to fine tune the bass response through

fine adjustments of the crossover frequency and the input sensitivity

of the amplifier. Generally, a too deeply selected crossover

frequency on your active crossover leads to an unpressurized

sound, while at too high crossover frequency the playback tends

to drone.
