Unpacking
Carefully remove your new Pure Acoustics speakers from the box. Inspect the speakers for
transit damage. If you discover damage, please contact your dealer immediately. Save your
carton, its the best possible protection for your speakers should you ever need to move them.
Connecting Wires and Receiver
Reading this and your amplifier’s owner manual fully will help you to set up your speaker
properly and reward you with a fine listening experience.
WARNING for U.S. Customers In some cases, Pure
Acoustics models may contain two pairs of binding post
wire terminals. Per Diagram A, it is important that U.S.
customers do not remove the jumper links which are
attached between the positive and negative terminals.
Removing these connectors, and/or wiring more than
one left and one right wire into your speaker will lower impedance and can damage your
equipment. If your speaker contains these terminals, only connect wires to top positive and
negative terminals, not tothe bottom terminals. For further information, please contact 718-
788-4411 for technical support.
Make sure all equipment is turned off. When connecting the speakers, be certain to retain
the correctpolarity. Most speaker wire is polarity coded either by color or texture. This means
thateach conductor is labeled either (+) positive or (–) negative. In the back of your amplifier,
each channel is labeled (+) and (–) as well. You must ensure that you connect (+) to (+) and
(–) to(–). Warning: If you connectthe speaker wires out of phase, meaning (+) to (–) or (–) to
(+), this will dramatically
reduce bass response and
change the tonal charac-
teristics of the speaker.
Also, if wires
areloose, it
can cause
crackling,
static types
of sounds, and/or
shortcircuit
your equipment.

Speaker Positioning
The diagram below shows 5.1, 6.1, and 7.1 speaker system placement.
The front center-channel
speaker should be placed as
close to the TV as possible,
preferably directly above or
below the set. The front chan-
nel speakers should be placed
at least 6 feet apart (TV/moni-
tor center) to create proper
stereo imaging. The 5.1 sur-
round speakers should be
equally spaced to the side of
the listener. The rear-center
speaker should be positioned
directly behind the listening
area.The rear channel speakers
should be positioned behind
and slightly tothe sides of the
viewer/listener. It may take
some experimentation with
different locations for the sur-
round speakers to suit your
preference and your room.
Running Time
and Cleaning
The performance of the speakers may change during the initial use due to storage and
mechanical limitations. Please allow 15 hours of use for the temperature effect and mechan-
ical parts to attain their intended design characteristics.
Make sure to turn all equipment off before cleaning. The cabinet only requires occasional
dusting. Please avoid touching the drive units.
Troubleshooting, Service, and Limited Warranty
Pure Acoustics products have been designed and manufactured to the highest quality stan-
dards. If you experience a problem, first try to determine if it is indeed a speaker issue.
Determine whether the problem exists in both speakers. If it does, the problem likely origi-
nates in some other component in the system. If the problem is in one speaker only, reverse
your speaker leads (left to right, right to left). If the problem moves to the other channel, your
problem is not in the speakers.
If you have determined you have a speaker problem, please contact your dealer or Pure
Acoustics Customer Service at 718-788-4411. Warranty is only valid for the original owner
and is limited to the repair of the product for manufacturer defects, either in materials or
workmanship. Warranty does not apply to units that were subject to misuse, neglect, abuse,
alteration, or improper installation. Warranty does not cover damage due to fire, water, heat,
lightning, or any other cause beyond the control of Pure Acoustics. All warranty repairs must
beaccompanied bythe original bill of sale.No other document is acceptable or required.
