Achieving the Best Performance
Use only good quality connection cables (we recommend Kramer high-performance,
high-resolution cables) to avoid interference, deterioration in signal quality due to poor
matching, and elevated noise levels (often associated with low quality cables).
Do not secure the cables in tight bundles or roll the slack into tight coils.
Avoid interference from neighbouring electrical appliances that may adversely influence
signal quality.
Position your Kramer VM-4DT away from moisture, excessive sunlight and dust.
This equipment is to be used only inside a building. It may only be connected to other
equipment that is installed inside a building.

Congratulations on purchasing your Kramer VM-4DT 1:4 HDBT Distributor.
VM-4DT - - is a high quality integrated extension product featuring a long reach 4K@60Hz (4:2:0)
HDBaseT extender reach distributor that takes one long- HDBaseT input, equalizes and
reclocks the signal and distributes it to four identical HDBaseT outputs. VM- 4DT distributes
native HDBaseT signals with up to 4K video resolution, along with their re extension over -
HDBaseT.
VM-4DT sis a tandard extender that can connect to any market-available HDBaseT compliant
extending products.
VM-4DT -provides exceptional quality and user friendly operation.
Exceptional Quality
Line Extender Distributor 4 -Native 1: long each HDBaseT distributor for deploying
mid- -way between AV source and distributed signal displays to gain extra long-reach
extension.
High-quality professional extension, on either input or output lines, of maximum 4K @60Hz

Connecting - the VM 4DT
Always switch off the power to each device before connecting it to your
VM-4DT. After
connecting your
VM-4DT, connect its power and then switch on the power to each device.
To connect the s illustrated in the example inVM- a4DT Figure 2:
1. . Connect the HDBT input source (for example, TP-580T) to the HD IN connectorBT
2. Connect the HDBT outputs four to four HDBT receivers (for example, TP- 0R58
devices).
3. Connect the 5V DC power adapter to the power socket unit and then connect the
adapter to the mains electricity (not shown in Figure 2).

Operating the VM-4DT
This section describes : how to
R -oute the IR and RS 232 signals via the HDBT ports
(see onRouting the IR and RS 232 Signals- page 6).

Routing the IR and RS-232 Signals
VM-4DT - transports IR and RS 232 signals between the HDBT input and the four HDBT

The IR/RS-232 signal routing is set via the SETUP DIP-switches .

For example, in the DIP switch setup shown in , DIPs 1, and 6 are set to OFF- Figure 4 (up).
This means that IR signals can traverse between IN and 232 commands OUT 1 ports and RS-
can and traverse between IN and 2 - 2 5OUT ports. DIP switches , 3, 4, , 7, 8 are set to ON
(down) and are therefore disabled.
