1 Warnings and symbols
1.1 Safety Instructions
If there is a smell of gas:
BClose the gas valve.
BOpen windows.
BDo not operate any electrical appliances or switches
(on/off).
BExtinguish any naked flames.
BPhone the gas company or an authorized technician
from a safe distance.
If there is a smell of burnt gases:
BDisconnect the appliance.
BOpen doors and windows.
BInform an installation company.
Fitting, modifications
BThe fitting and modification of the installation of the
appliance must be carried out only by an authorized
technician.
BThe pipes carrying burnt gases must not be modified.
BDo not close or reduce air circulation holes.
Maintenance
BWe reccomend to have the system regularly serviced
in order to ensure that it functions reliably and safely.
BThe installer is responsible for the safety and environ-
mental compatibility of the installation.
BThe appliance should be serviced annually.
BOnly original spare parts must be used.
Explosive and inflammable materials
BInflammable materials (paper, solvents, ink, etc.)
should not be stored near the appliance.
Combustion air and ambient air
BTo avoid corrosion, combustion air and ambient air
should be free of aggressive substances (for example
halogenated hydrocarbons containing chlorine and
fluoride composites).
Client information
BInform the client about the function and operation of
the appliance.
BThis appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowl-
edge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a per-
son responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure they do not
play with the appliance.
BCaution clients against performing modifications or
repairs themselves.
1.2 Key to symbols
The different types of warnings serve to indicate the
degree of risk, if the damage reduction precautions are
not followed.
Caution is used to indicate the risk of light material
damage.
Warning is used to indicate the risk of light personal
damage or more serious material damage
Danger is used to indicate the risk of serious personal
damage that might in some circumstances be fatal
The indications include important information that does
not necessarily implicate risk to people or the appliance
itself.
The safety instructions in the text appear
on a grey ground and are signaled in the
margin by a triangle containing an excla-
mation mark.
Indications in the text are identified by the
symbol in the margin.
The beginning and end of the text are indi-
cated by a horizontal line.
