andunreasonableuse.
I. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
1. The in stalla tion mu st be ca rried ou t by qu alified
personnel,inaccordancewithcurrentregulations,according
tothemanufacturer’sinstructions.
2. Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in
thebuilt-instructure,clearofobstruction.
1. UNPACKING
WARNING
Children should not be allowed in reach of the packaging
elements(plasticbagsandexpandedpolystyrene)astheyare
potentialsourcesofdanger.
CAUTION
Remove shipping carton, tape(s) and pack ing. If packing
materialisleftintheicemaker,itwillnotworkproperly.
2. LOCATION
IMPORTANT
1. This icemaker is not intended for outdoor u se. Normal
operatingambienttemperatureshouldbewithin7°Cto40°C.
Normal operating water temperature should be within 7°C
to 35°C. Operation of the icemaker, for extended periods,
outside of these normal temperature ranges may affect
productioncapacity.
2. Theicemaker should notbe located nextto ovens, grillsor
otherhighheatproducingequipment.
3. The location should provide a rm and level foundation for
theequipment.
4. Allow 15 cm clea rance at rea r and sides for proper air
circulation and ease of maintenance and/or service should
theyberequired.
5. Thisapplianceisnotsuitableforinstallationinanareawhere
awaterjetcouldbeusedandwheredrippingisnotallowed.
6. Do not place anything on top of theicemaker or in front of
thelouver.
7. Thisicemakerwillnotworkatsubfreezing temperatures.To
preventdamagetothewatersupplyline,draintheicemaker
whenairtemperatureisbelowzero(see“II.2.PREPARING
THEICEMAKERFORLONGSTORAGE”).
3. INSTALLATION
* Incorrect installationcan cause harm to people, animalsor things,
forwhichthemanufacturercannotbeheldresponsible.
* Placetheicemakerintheselectedpermanentsite.
* Theappliancemustbepositionedsothattheplugisaccessible.
4. ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

equipment,installaproperearthwiretotheicemaker.Remove
theplugfromthemainssocketbeforeanymaintenance,repairs
orcleaningisundertaken.
* Thisappliancerequiresaseparate220-240VAC,10Asupply.The
electricalsupplymustbeprotectedbyasuitablecircuitbreaker.
* Th e main control box fuse is ra ted at 5A and should only be
replacedbyaqualiedserviceengineer.
* Usually an electrical permit and services of a licensed electrician
arerequired.

cordavailablefromHoshizakiParts/ServiceCentres.

* Ifthesupplycordandtheplugshouldneedtobereplaced,itshould

* The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the
followingcode:
  Green&Yellow=Earth
  Blue=Neutral
  Brown=Live
1)After removing the packaging, make sure that the icemaker is in
good condition. If in doubt, please do not use the equipment but
applytoprofessionallyqualiedpersonnel.
2)Removeshippingtapeholdingthedoorandseparator.
3)Removetheprotectiveplasticlmfromtheexterior.Iftheicemaker
isexposedtothesunortoheat,removethelmaftertheicemaker
cools.
4)Removethepackageofaccessories,andcheckthecontents:
a)OutletHose 1

c)AdjustBolt 4

As the coloursofthe wirein themains leadof thisappliance may
notcorrespondwiththecolouredmarkingsidentifyingtheterminals
inyourplug,proceedasfollows:
 ThewirewhichiscolouredGreen-and-Yellowmustbeconnectedto
theterminalintheplugwhichis markedwith theletterE orby the
symbol orcolouredGreenorGreen-and-Yellow.Thewirewhich
iscolouredBluemustbeconnectedtotheterminalwhichismarked
with the letter N or coloured Black. The wire which is coloured
Brownmustbeconnectedtotheterminalwhichismarkedwiththe
letterLorcolouredRed.
* Shouldthe socketoutlets inthe installationsite notbe suitablefor
theplugsuppliedwithyourproduct,theplugmustberemoved(cut
offifitismouldedonplug)andanappropriateplugtted.
 Ifthenon-rewirableplughasbeencutfromthepowersupplycord,
it must be disposed of. There should be no attempt to reuse it.
Insertingsuchaplugintoasocketelsewherepresentsaseriousrisk
ofelectricalshock.
* The non-rewirable plug must never be used without a fuse cover
beingtted.
 Thecorrectreplacementforthedetachablefusecoverisidentiable
fromthemanufacturersreferencenumberstampedontheplug.
 SupplyofreplacementfusecoverscanbeobtainedfromHoshizaki
Parts/ServiceCentres.
 Fusesshouldberatedat10AandapprovedtoBS1362.
5. WATER SUPPLY AND DRAIN CONNECTIONS
WARNING
Onlypotablewatershouldbeusedforthisicemaker.
* The connections to the mains water supply must be made in
accordance with the countries current requirements of the Water
SupplyorWaterFittingsRegulations.
* Icemaking water must be potable water.Where scaling can be
causedbywaterquality,installationofanexternallterorsoftener
isrecommended.Contactyourlocalwatertreatmentprofessionalor
Hoshizakiserviceagent.
* Watersupplypressureshouldbeminimum0.05MPa(0.5bar)and
maximum0.8MPa(8bar).Ifthepressureexceeds0.8MPa(8bar),
useapressurereducingvalve.DoNOTthrottlebackthesupplytap.
* Besure touse thenew hose-setssupplied withthe appliance.Do
notreuseanyoldhose-sets.
* A plumbing permit and services of a licensed plumber may be
requiredinsomeareas.
* Watershoulddrainintoanopentrap.
* The icemaker drain is gravity flow, so ensure drain pipe has an
adequatepitchorfall.
* TopreventabackowintotheStorageBin,theoutlethosemustbe
laidasshowninFig.2.

1)Attachthe freeendof inlethose tothe stopvalve (Fig.4), noting
washeris correctlypositioned.Handtighten sufcientlytoprovide
leakfreejoint.Itisawiseprecautiontohavethestopvalvewithin
easyreach.
2)Hand tighten grey exible outlet hose (accessory) onto the tting
onthe rearof theicemaker asindicated (Fig.3), ensuringrubber
sealing washer is correctly positioned to obtain a leak free joint.
Thepipecanbecuttolengthasnecessarytosuitpositionofmain
drain.To preventwater leaks, securethe outlet hose tothe drain
outletbyusingahoseband.
Note: Jointing compounds should be approved and suitable for
potablewateruse.
