D. Weighing Mode
1. Press the ON/TARE button to turn on. The display
ashes ---- and then returns to zero.
2. Place an item on the scale platform.
The weight of the item appears on the display
within 1 second after the item is stable.
3. Press the OFF button to turn off.
Note: The scale automatically turns off after 4 minutes
of inactivity when the AC adapter is not plugged in.
E. Tare
The tare function resets the scale display to zero
in order to measure only the weight of an item. It is
frequently used to subtract the weight of containers.
1. When the scale is on, place a container on
the platform.
2. Press the ON/TARE button to reset the display to
zero. The display ashes and then returns t
to zero.
3. Place the item into the container or directly on
the scale platform. The weight of only the last
item added will appear on the display.
4. Continue to repeat steps and 2. 3. to measure
the respective weights of additional items.
5. To clear the tare, remove all items from the
platform and press the ON/TARE button.
The display resets to zero.
F. Preset Mode
The preset unit is a programmable unit that serves
as a point of comparison for subsequent weights
that need to match the preset unit or a percentage
thereof. It is frequently used in packing and shipping
applications.
1. Press the UNIT button to select preset.
a. If it is the rst time being used since
a battery was installed, appears on
the display.
b. If the preset unit was saved before, 0.00 appears
on the display.
2. Place the item with the reference weight on the
scale platform.
Note: The minimum weight for the preset unit is 5kg.
E appears on the display when the item with the
reference weight is below the minimum weight. Please
place an item with the weight over the minimum weight
to continue.
3. Press and hold the ON/TARE button until the
arrow blinks.
4. Immediately press the ON/TARE button again to
conrm the preset unit. The display shows . 1.00
The preset unit has been set.
Note: This preset unit will be held in memory until
changed or the removal of the battery.
5. To change the preset unit, repeat steps 1.
through 4.
6. To compare other items, place an item on the
scale platform. The percentage as compared to
the preset unit appears on the display.
For example: appears on the display when an 0.85
item that weighs 85% of the total preset unit weight
is weighed. 1.30 appears on the display when an item
that weighs 130% of the total preset unit weight
is weighed.
G. Field Calibration
1. Press and hold the ON/TARE and OFF buttons
simultaneously, while installing the battery or
plugging in the AC adapter, until all segments are
displayed.
2. Release both buttons. The display returns to zero.
3. Press the OFF button. The display shows .50.00
4. Place a 50 kg calibration weight on the scale.
The scale performs internal calculations and then
the display shows 100.00.
5. Place a 100 kg calibration weight on the scale.
The scale performs internal calculations.
6. PASS appears on the display if the calibration is
successful. Then the scale automatically turns
off. The scale has been calibrated and is ready
for use.
7. FAIL appears on the display if the calibration
is not successful. Then the scale automatically
turns off. Return to step and try the calibration 1.
again. calibration continually fails, please contact
CDN for further assistance.
H. Battery Status
Lo: replace battery with one 9V IEC 6LR61 alkaline
cell. The scale turns off automatically after
2 seconds.
I. Error Messages
1. EEEE indicates an overload error when the item
being measured exceeds the capacity of the
scale. Immediately remove the overweight item to
avoid causing permanent damage to your scale.
The scale turns off automatically after
2 seconds.
2. E appears on the display when the item with the
reference weight for the preset unit is below the
minimum weight of 5 kg. Please place an item
with the weight over the minimum weight
to continue.
3. Err indicates an initialization problem. The scale
turns off automatically after 2 seconds. Turn on
the scale again. If the problem persists, please
contact CDN.
Note: Clean the scale platform before each use.
Note: Replacement AC adapter available.
Usage Guidelines
• Scales are precision instruments and must be
handled with extreme care.
• Battery technology works best at room temperature.
• Place the scale gently on a hard and at surface and
make sure it is steady before use.
The maximum capacity of the scale is 220 lb/100 kg,
which is the capacity before using the tare function.
• Do not place overweight items on the scale.
• Store the scale in a position that keeps it free from
any load bearing weight. Storing the scale with
pressure on the load cells can distort the weight
measurements over time.
• Hold the scale from the bottom when moving.
Care of Your Product
• Do not submerge any part of the scale in water.
• Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
• Store the scale at room temperature between
32 to 104°F/0 to 40°C.
Precautions
• Keep the scale, AC adapter and/or battery away from
children.
• Do not clean the scale with abrasive or corrosive
compounds, which may scratch the surface and
corrode the electronic circuits.
• Do not subject the scale to excessive force, shock,
dust, temperature or humidity, which may result in
malfunction, shorter electronic life span, damaged
battery and/or distorted parts.
• Do not tamper with the scale’s internal components.
Doing so will invalidate the warranty and may cause
unnecessary battery damage and/or distorted parts.
• Do not subject the scale to excessive exposure to
direct sunlight.
— do not immerse it in The unit is not waterproof
any liquid, which will result in faulty measurements.
• To avoid deformation, do not place the unit in
extreme temperatures.
• Always read the user manual thoroughly before
operating.
