NOW LETS GET STARTED!
INTRODUCTION
The Warm Audio RingerBringer accurately recreates the ultimate all-analog ring modulation effect used for experi-
mental tones. With LFO, MOD, FREQUENCY & RATE controls, you can generate layered frequencies and harmonics,
explore a wide range of sonic possibilities for guitar & beyond, and design your own sounds from the ground up.
Sporting premium components including hand-selected op-amps and transistors, the RingerBringer delivers true-to-
spec performance of the boutique original.
PEDAL LAYOUT & CONTROLS
1. MODULATION CONTROLS
Mix: The MIX control on RingerBringer allows crossfade the dry and wet (modulated) signals. Turning
the knob clockwise will increase the percentage of “wet” effect tone vs. dry signal, adding wobble and
pitch shift depending on other pedal settings. 100% counterclockwise yields zero modulation and 100%
clockwise yields a fully wet signal.
Frequency: The Frequency control on RingerBringer determines the frequency of the carrier oscillator,
affecting the pitch and harmonic content of the ring-modulated output. As you increase the frequency
(clockwise), you will begin to hear the distance between the harmonic content as shifted pitch. The lower
the setting, the more it sounds like tremolo, at higher frequency settings, more harmonic dissonance and
pitch shifting will occur.
LO/HI Switch: The LO/HI switch sets the range of the frequency settings for the carrier oscillator inside
RingerBringer. The “LO” setting range is [0.6 Hz to 80 Hz] and the “HI” setting range is [30 Hz to 4 kHz]
2. LFO CONTROLS
A NOTE ON THE LFO-SIDE OF THE WA-RB
LFO, or Low Frequency Oscillator, is typically used to generate effects like vibrato and tremolo. RingerBringer
features a dual-waveform, voltage-controlled LFO that modulates the carrier oscillator frequency.
Amount: The AMOUNT knob on RingerBringer sets the degree to which the LFO waveform modulates
the frequency of the carrier oscillator. When turned counterclockwise, there is no frequency modulation
from the LFO. Rotating the knob fully clockwise, however, results in a frequency modulation spanning three
octaves for the carrier oscillator.
Rate: The RATE knob on RingerBringer controls the speed at which the LFO oscillates. This knob covers a
frequency range of 0.1 Hz - to 25 Hz, with 1 Hz being equal to one cycle per 10-second interval.
Sine/Square Switch: The SINE/SQUARE switch on RingerBringer allows you to choose between the
square waveform and the sine-like waveform generated by the LFO. The square wave will produce flut-
tering/trembling effects, while the sine waveform creates vibrato and more gradual pitch-altering tones.
3. DRIVE CONTROL
The DRIVE knob on RingerBringer ne-tunes the input gain, allowing precise adjustment for a variety of in-
struments or line-level signal sources. Turning the knob clockwise will INCREASE the amount of gain applied.
Weaker signals will need more turning of the knob while stronger signals can afford less use of the knob. The
DRIVE control is always on, even when RingerBringer is bypassed, so setting this control acts as a unity gain for
your signal while RingerBringer is in the chain. You can also push the drive knob into harmonic overdrive and
even distortion as well.
