ASSEMBLY OF 1472 or CVD1472 CABINET
Tools Needed: A free 11/ nut driver is included with each Tennsco cabinet. 32
Two people are recommended for assembly. Approximate assembly time: 30-40 minutes.
2. Place the cabinet back (Ref. No. 1) on a
protected surface to prevent
scratching the paint.
The ange on the
bottom of the back
should be facing upward.
1. The reference numbers used throughout this sheet refer
to the illustration on the back cover. This is to help you
to identify the various parts as they are mentioned.
3. Attach the left side (Ref. No. 2) to the back by placing
ange (A) around the back and bolting together with
seven bolts and nuts (Ref. Nos. 21 & 22). Be sure that the
lances on all shelf adjustment strips (B) are pointing in the
same direction.
5. Insert the shelf (Ref. No. 4) into
the second lance of the side
and back panels.
6. Attach the top (Ref. No. 5) to the unit by sliding the outer ange
over the back of the unit and the side ange of the side panel on
the unit. The threaded studs should go through
the holes in the top lange of the side and
fasten with three nuts. Attach the back
to the top using four bolts
and nuts.
4. Attach the right side (Ref. No. 3) to the back in the same
manner as you did in step 3, again, making sure that
the ange is around the back and that the lances on the
shelf adjustment strips are pointed in the same direction
as those on the back and left side. 8. Place the rear ange of the bottom (Ref. No. 7) into the
bottom lances of the back. The ange with two holes should
face the front, hanging over the sill. Insert the bolts through
the bottom and still with the head
facing the front of the unit.
Secure with two nuts.
Tighten all bolts.
All lances point UP on
both backs and side.
Flange goes
under back.
Flange faces upward.

NOTE: When bolting the unit together, leave
the bolts slightly loose until Step 8, unless
otherwise specified.
NOTE: All illustrations show a solid door. Assembly
for C-Thru doors (CVD1472) is identical.
Two holes must
be in front

7. Next, attach the sill (Ref. No. 6) to the sides, as shown above.
Place nuts loosely on each of the studs and slide the ends of the
sill into the slots on both sides of the unit. Then, securely tighten
the nuts.
11. Insert the four partition shelves
(Ref. No. 11) at the desired levels.
The shelves should be inserted
using the same method used to
place the top shelf.
10. Attach the left coat rod bracket
(Ref. No. 19) beneath the left side
of the cabinet shelf by inserting one
bolt through the hole in the
left edge of the shelf. Secure with a
nut. Attach the right bracket in
the same way. Then slide the
coat rod (Ref. No. 18) through the
holes in the brackets.

Access Holes
9. Using two people, set the unit
upright and insert the partition
(Ref. No. 10) into the cabinet,
alining the four holes in the
partition with the holes in the
cabinet bottom and the
cabinet shelf. Attach
with four bolts and
nuts, making sure that
the bolts are inserted from
the top downward to prevent
stored items from being snagged.
NOTE: In order to place the
shelves, you must first tilt
the shelf slightly to the left
or right before inserting
into the unit.
13. The cabinet must be level
in order for the doors to
close properly. Levelers
may be adjusted by
placing the nut driver
through the hole in each
end of the sill and adjusting
the leveling screw.
12. Attach the left door (Ref.
No. 8) and the right door
(Ref. No. 9) to the unit
by placing the door on
the hinges, aligning the
hinge holes, and dropping
the hinge pins (Ref. No.
17) into the slots. Then,
tap the top of each hinge
pin until fully seated.
1. Place the locking handle
(Ref. No. 13) on the right
hand door and fasten with
two #8-32 X 1/ 4hex-head
bolts and lock washers,
provided with the handle.
2. Turn the handle to the
open position and
place the locking cam
(Ref. No. 14) over the
square shank of the
door handle. The latch
must be facing downward
as shown. Then place the
locking cotter pin (Ref. No.
15) through the hole of the
square shank.
3. With the handle still in the open position, hook the
locking bars (Ref. No. 12) to the locking cam (see
A at left). Once in position, slowly rotate the door
handle to the closed position so the lock bars
prot rude from the holes at the top and bottom
of the door (shown at right, below).
4. Slide the nylon lock bar
guide inserts (Ref. No.
16) over the lock bar
ends and through the
door slots (see “B” at
right). Push down rmly
until the guides snap
into place.
