STANLEY® IR Thermometer
The STANLEY IR Thermometer is a non-contact
temperature measuring thermometer. It utilizes
infrared technology and a color changing display
for quick, intuitive feedback. The STANLEY
IR Thermometer can be used to measure the
surface temperature of an object or ¿nd
leaks along walls, molding, ductwork and more.
USER SAFETY
WARNING: Read and understand all
instructions. Failure to follow all instructions

WARNING:
The following labels are placed on the laser
tool to inform you of the laser class for your
convenience and safety.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
BATTERY
Open the battery door on the handle of unit
and connect 2 AAA (1.5 V) batteries, ensuring
polarity is correct per the indication on the
inside of case. Replace battery door. It is
recommended to replace the batteries with
new batteries when battery indicator shows .
USAGE
1. Point the IR Thermometer at the object
to be measured, pull and hold the
trigger. When the IR thermometer is in
measurement mode the LCD backlight
will illuminate and the laser will be on, the
measurement indicator icon will “SCAN”
also be displayed on the LCD.
When the trigger is released 3 audible
beeps will sound and the laser will shut o;
the last temperature reading will remain
on the LCD. After 15 seconds the LCD
backlight will turn o and after 1 minute the
IR Thermometer will turn o.
2. When the IR Thermometer is in the “ON”
state (trigger is not pulled), pressing the
SET
ºC/ºF
button will select the desired unit of
measure: C° or F°.
3. When the IR Thermometer is in the “ON”
state (trigger is not pulled), pressing and
holding the
OFF
button for about 3 seconds
will turn the unit o.
4. When the IR Thermometer is in the
measurement mode (trigger is pulled and
held), pressing the
SET
ºC/ºF
button will set the
reference temperature.
5. Press the
OFF
button to select the desired
temperature threshold (0.5°C/1°F, 3°C/5°F,
or 5.5°C/10°F). The icon indicates your
current setting.
To disable the threshold feature, press the
OFF
button until the icon is over the
“OFF” mark.
6. Once a reference temperature and
temperature threshold are set the unit
can be used to scan areas for changes in
temperature. While in measurement mode
the backlight will be green and “NORMAL”
