AIRBRUSH SETUP

MODE

1. Attach the holster (a) to the compressor (b).

2. Attach the hose to the airbrush making sure that it is fully

attached.

3. Attach the hose to the compressor, again, making sure that it is

fully attached.

4. Plug the mains adaptor into the compressor.

5. Screw the tanning dispenser, into the thread at the top of the

airbrush.

6. Pour the tanning solution into the tanning dispenser, and

firmly replace the lid.

7. Keep the airbrush and dispenser upright at all times to prevent

any solution leakage, if you need to set the airbrush down while

full, place it in the holster at the side of your compressor.

8. Place the compressor on a flat, steady surface.

9. Turn on the compressor.

10. To change the speed of the air flow, press ‘MODE’.

IMPORTANT NOTES ON THE USE AND STORAGE OF THE

COMPRESSOR:

l The compressor should be stored and used in a dry, clean, well

ventilated space.

l Do not store in direct sunlight

l The compressor should not be left running idle for longer than

10 minutes.

AIRBRUSH MAINTENANCE

To avoid blockages with your airbrush it is advised that as soon after

each tanning session as possible, you ‘flush clean’ your airbrush.

To do this. fill your tanning dispenser with clean warm water, and

spray through the airbrush.

PREPARATION

Thoroughly preparing your skin prior to spray tanning is the key to

the perfect finish.

l Do NOT use deodorants, perfumes, lotions or make-up prior to

tanning. These products can affect the performance and colour

of your tan.

l Remove all jewellery.

Pull up hair, away from face and neck with a hair tie and cover with

a hair cap, push the cap up about a quarter of an inch above the

hair line to prevent any white lines occurring.

TIPS TO ACHIEVE THE PERFECT RESULT:

HAIR REMOVAL

Although not strictly essential the best results will be on hair-free

skin. If you wax or use sugaring, allow 48 hours before tanning,

otherwise tiny speckles of concentrated colour may appear in the

hair follicle. These will fade with your tan. If shaving, leave 24 hours

before tanning.

EXFOLIATING

It is important to exfoliate thoroughly. Dead, dry skin cells absorb the

tanning solution much faster than young, new cells resulting in an

uneven, patchy tan which will quickly fade. Particular care should be

taken to exfoliate the ‘dry zones’ (such as knees, hands, elbows and

feet). The exfoliating glove provided, will aid with this. Shower after

exfoliating and dry thoroughly.

MOISTURISING

Do NOT moisturise your whole body prior to tanning. Moisturise

ONLY the ‘dry zones’ (knees, hands, elbows and feet) with a WATER

BASED moisturiser. Oil based moisturisers form a barrier which is

not easily penetrated by the tanning solution.

TOP TIPS

Apply a barrier cream (such as petroleum jelly or lip balm) to lips,

eyebrows, toenails and fingernails to prevent any discolouration.

SPRAY TANNING

Take care not to get any tanning solution in your eyes, should this

happen rinse thoroughly with clean water, should persistent irritation

occur, consult your doctor.

Choose an appropriate area; tanning solution can stain some

fabrics. Protect your immediate surroundings with an old towel.

Turn on the compressor. Moving the airbrush trigger backwards

starts the flow of tanning solution. The further you move the trigger

backwards, the greater the flow. As you spray, you will see the

coloured tanning solution on the skin. The colour is added bronzer

that will act as a guide for you to see where you have sprayed. You

can adjust the speed of the airflow by pressing the ‘MODE’ button.

TOP TIP

You may find it easier to spray the

first ‘burst’ of solution onto a tissue,

so to give you a feel for how it works,

before applying it to your skin.

As a guide, hold the airbrush 15-20

cm from your skin. Varying the

distance will increase/decrease the

amount of tanning solution on the

skin.

Spray using a circular motion. It is important to keep the airbrush

moving.

Take care not to kink the hose during use. Otherwise the spray

performance will be affected.

When refilling the tanning dispenser or not spraying, turn off the

compressor.

When spraying your whole body, work upwards from your feet. Move

onto your stomach, and then torso up to the neck area.

Then move onto the arms. For a natural effect apply lightly to the

underside of the arms - to achieve this, simply hold the airbrush

further away. Remember to include the underarm area.

NOTE: If drips occur, you are holding the airbrush too close, or

moving it too slowly.

When tanning the face, tilt your head

back slightly, close your eyes, take a

breath and spray using a downward

angle, keeping the airbrush moving at

all times. Avoid breathing in or getting

any solution in your eyes, whilst spraying

the face.

NOTE: For some parts of the body, such

as the back, you may need to ask a

friend or partner to help.

AFTER TANNING

Wipe palms and soles of feet with a baby/wet wipe or damp flannel

to prevent dark patches.

Try not to move whilst the solution is drying. This usually takes

between 3-5 minutes, but may vary depending on the amount of

solution applied, the air temperature and humidity. You can use a

hair dryer if you wish.

Don’t get dressed until you are completely dry, you should wear

loose fitting, cotton clothes for the first 12 hours.

You should NOT shower for at least 12 hours after spray tanning,

your tan colour will develop quickly over the first 3-4 hours and reach

its deepest colour after 12 hours. Avoid physical exercise that might

induce sweating for the first 12 hours as this can cause streaking in

your tan.

When you shower, you will see some colour washing off, don’t worry,

this is normal, it is just the bronzer ‘guide’ colour that has been

added to the tanning solution, the bronzer will wash off but the tan

will remain. You may wish to use an old towel for the first shower

after tanning.

TOP TIPS

Your tan colour will develop quickly over the first 3-4 hours, and reach

its deepest colour after 12 hours. If you wish to deepen your tan,

respray after 24 hours, without exfoliating. To maintain you tan, apply

every 4-6 days.

l Exfoliate well - A long soak in a warm bath before exfoliating will

make the process more efficient.

l Moisturise the ‘dry zones’ well.

l Check that you are not too hot as perspiration may cause

streakiness.

l Moisturising thoroughly each night will prolong your tan.

l Long, hot baths speed up the natural exfoliation process, so

avoid these after tanning if you wish to prolong your colour.

l DO NOT shower for at least 12 hours after tanning.

l Don’t forget to wipe your hands and soles of feet straight after

tanning.

USER GUIDE

Please read all instructions thoroughly and retain for future

reference.

l For external use only, do NOT ingest.

l Avoid contact with the eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly

with water.

l Do NOT apply to open cuts or broken skin.

l Always cover your hair when tanning your face, especially if you

have bleached hair which can be stained by the tanning solution.

PATCH TEST

NOTE: Patch test the tanning solution on a small area of your skin

24 hours before spraying a large area. If irritation occurs, discontinue

use.

UV PROTECTION

It is important to understand that tanning solution, along with most

self tanning products, does not offer protection from the sun. Always

apply a sunscreen with an appropriate SPF (sun protection factor)

before exposing your skin to sunlight.

IMPORTANT

Choose an appropriate space; tanning solution can stain some

fabrics. Ideally use the airbrush inside your shower cubicle or protect

your area with an old towel.
