PSC RF Mul SMA
The PSC RF Mul SMA contains two, separate, acve 1 x 8 RF spliers for use with up to eight
diversity receivers. This compact, rugged device was developed using the latest super low
noise RF ampliers and will operate over an extended frequency range of 470Mhz to 870Mhz.
Its two inputs are tradional BNC connectors for ease of use in interfacing with your external
antennas. Each of the SMA outputs oers a typical isolaon factor of 24 to 28dB between
radio receivers. The PSC RF Mul SMA also has the ability to power external powered
antennas or remote line ampliers. There are two top panel mounted switches on the unit.
One is marked “POWER” and this controls the overall power to the unit. The second switch
is marked “ANTENNAand this switch controls the power being sent to an external powered
antenna or remote line amplier. Both switch light up when in use. The enre unit is es
powered from any source of external DC power of 10 to 15Vdc @ approximately 90 mA.
USE:
1. Connect a source of external 12Vdc power to the Hirose 4 pin connector on the
boom of the unit.
2. Connect your two receive ant nas to the RF input BNC connectors on the top of the en
unit. When using powered antennas or remote line ampliers, turn on the “Antenna”
power switch. For all other uses, leave this switch turned o.
3. Connect the PSC RF Mul SMA to your receivers using the appropriate cables from the
SMA connectors on the RF Mul SMA to the RF antenna connectors on your receivers.
4. Power up the unit. Note that the power switch lights up green when the unit is turned
on.
*NOTE* When used with ENG “bag” mixing setups, we recommend that you remotely
mount your receive antennas up away from your equipment on your bag’s shoulder
straps.
