Where to put your Se t-top box?

Inorder to guarantee th e correct op eration o f your Set-top bo x,
you must:
Warnin gs and safety instructions
• In case of failure, th e po wer cable i s th e
disconnect device for th is equipment. To remove
all electrical po wer fro m t h e equipment,
disconnect th e po wer cable fr om th e electrical o utlet.

Cleanin g the Set-top box
Batteries are easily swallowed by young chi ld ren. Do not allo w
young child ren to pl ay with th e remote control .Always keep b atteries away from excessive h eat sources such
as direct sunlight , re or simi lar so urces.
To avoid damaging the r emote control , o nly use identical
batteries or b atteries of an equivalent type. Th e batteries provid ed are not rech argeable.
Do not pl ace th e Set-top b ox near appliances th at may cause
electromagneti c interferences (for example, loudspeakers,
modems, routers o r co rd less ph o nes). Th is could a ect Set-top box o peratio n and di sto rt th e pi cture or sound.
Please wait until th e Set-top b ox o r th e multimedi a le ap pl i cation exits th e multimedi a li st manager (multimedia le
applicatio n) o r i s i n standby mod e b efore d isconnecting your
storage devices. Oth erwise, you ri sk lo si ng data or damage your storage device.
When connecting a USB periph eral device, respect th e way of
insertion and never use f or ce. Yo u may damage your periph eral
device and/or th e app l iance.
The o uter casing of th e Set-top b o x can be cleaned with a soft
and dry cloth . D o not use any type of abrasive pad, sco uring
powd er or so lvents, such as alcoh o l or t urpentine, as th ey
could d amage the surface of th e Set-top b o x.
Take care not to all ow l iq uids or metal o bj ects to enter th e
Set-top bo x th ro ugh t h e ventilation slo ts.
Avoid reconnecting the Set-top bo x after i t h as been subjected to l arge changes in temperature.
The Set-top bo x must be d i sconnected from po wer supp ly
before any modication of connection between TV, VCR o r
antenna.In th e event of a sto rm, it i s advisabl e to unplug th e antenna.
Even if th e Set-top b ox and t h e television set are
disconnected from th e po wer supp ly, li gh tning can still
damage th em.If you h ear unusual noise comi ng from th e mains po wer
socket or fro m th e p o wer cord , d isconnect immediately th e
power cor d fro m t h e mains power so cket in accordance with all th e precautions of use, you risk getting an electric sho ck,
and contact your retailer.
Never connect th e Set-top b o x to a mains po wer so cket
wh ich i s l o ose, sh ows si gns of wear o r d amage, you risk getting an electric sh ock.
Never touch t h e po wer cor d wi th wet h ands. Y ou ri sk getting
an electric shock.
When connecting or disconnecting the p ow er cord , always take ho ld o f th e p lug with o ut p ulli ng on th e cord . A d amaged
cord p resents a potential ri sk of re or electric sh o ck. Never
pull th e p o wer cord wh en disconnecting from th e mains
power socket.Never place obj ects on th e p ower cord , and never pull on i t
or fo ld it . Th i s may cause a risk of re or electric sh ock.
Ensure that th e Set-top b ox never lies on th e po wer cord or any oth er cables.
Ensure the Set-top bo x i s p laced o n a at and stable
surface, pl acing it i ncorrectly may lead to th e p o wer cord
being disconnected.This may cause a ri sk of re or electric sh ock.
Always keep th e po wer cor d unit o ut of th e reach of ch il dr en
or d omestic animals.
Only personnel approved b y th e manufacturer can repair t h eSet-top b o x. Failure to co mpl y with th ese safety precautions
will invalidate th e guarantee.
Have a specialised installer p erfor m all connections if you want to use cables th at are not pr ovi ded wit h th e Set-top
box.
Connect th e Set-top b o x to th e electrical o utlet i n accordance with t h e indi cations mentioned on th e
identication label axed on th e Set-top b ox ( volt age,
power, frequency of electricity network).
You must imperatively use th e Set-top b o x i n an environment that comp li es wit h th e fo l lo wi ng requirements:
• temperature: between 0°C [32°F] and 40°C [10 4°F].
• ambient h umidity: b etween 20% and 90%.• altitude: b elow 2000 m [6 562 ft] .
To avoid sh ort-cir cuits (re or electrocution h azard), d o not
expose your Set-top bo x to d ampness. Do not p l ace any
object co ntaining liquid (vase for example) on th e appl iance.Th e Set-top bo x must not be sp lash ed wit h l iq uid . If l iq uid i s
spill ed o nto th e Set-top b o x, unplug it i mmediately from t h e
mains and consult your suppl ier.

prevent your Set-top bo x fr om overh eating. If you p lace th e
Set-top bo x in a comp artment or o th er clo sed sp ace, leave a
space of at least 10 cm o n each sid e and 20 cm o n th e fro nt and back of th e Set-top b o x,
connect i t di rectly to t h e mains with th e p ro vid ed co rd s, th e
socket must be near th e Set-top b ox and easy to access. The use of an extensi o n cable (wit h multi-p o ints) i s not
recommended.
