This manual is valid for the following Novis appliances:

Safety Instructions
Your safety and the safety of others are of the utmost importance.
Several safety recommendations are listed in this instruction manual. Please read and always take this
safety advice into consideration.
Under this symbol, we warn you of any possible hazard that could cause death or injuries.
All the safety recommendations explain to you the kind of danger and provide advice on
how you could prevent the risk of injuries, keeping you informed of the consequences if you
do not follow the recommendations.
This symbol indicates useful operation advice.
When working with electrical equipment, the following basic safety precautions
should be observed at all times:
1. Read these instructions carefully.
2. To protect against the risk of electric shock, never put the Novis
Toaster into water or other liquids.
3. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a
safe way and understand the hazards involved.
4. Children must not play with the Novis Toaster.
5. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.
6. Remove the plug from the socket when you are not using or when
you are cleaning the Novis Toaster.
7. If you drop the appliance or if it is damaged in any way, contact the
nearest Novis customer service point and have the appliance
checked.
8. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufac-
turer or a qualified person in order to avoid hazards / damages.
9. Do not leave the power cord hanging over the edge of a table or
work surface and protect it from heat and oil.
10. If the plug does not fit into the socket, the device must not be used.
11. Novis assumes no liability if the device is used with a power
adapter.

12. Do not remove the plug from the socket by pulling the power cord;
do not remove the plug from the power socket with wet hands.
13. Never use defective parts.
14. Do not use the appliance outdoors.
15. Do not place the Novis Toaster on hot or wet surfaces and do not
operate the appliance near open flames.
16. Do not put your hands into the container while processing food as
this can cause injuries or equipment damages.
17. Do not misuse the device for any other purpose than bread toasting,
otherwise it may cause injuries or damage to the device.
18. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
19. Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left
unattended.
20. The bread may burn, therefore do not use the toaster near or below
combustible material, such as curtains.
Keep these instructions for future reference.
WARNING:
Do not touch heating elements of the toaster during operation – it is dangerous.
Never attempt to extract jammed toasts from the operating toaster using a knife or any other object,
as contact with live elements may result in an electric shock. Unplug the unit; allow the unit to cool
down, and carefully remove the bread, using a wooden spatula.
Using the Unit
First Time
Before using the unit for the first time, remove all packing materials.
Before putting the bread insert the plug into the socket, set the browning control ( ) to the maximal 3
time and switch on the unit, by pressing the lever (2).
While first usage, the heating elements of the toaster burn and it may lead to appearance of some
smoke – it is normal.
Important Tips
Browning degree depends on thickness of a toast, type and quality of bread.
Never brown too thick or thin slices, toasts thickness should be not more than mm.20
If toasts got stuck, switch off the unit to remove them, by pressing the Cancel button ( ), unplug the 6
unit and let the unit cool down. To remove the toasts use a wooden spatula. Do not touch heating
elements of the toaster – it is dangerous.
Making Toasts
1).Insert the bread slices into the slots (
Insert the plug into the socket.
3Use the browning control ( ) to set the required operating time.

2Press the lever ( ) till clamp, the button ( ) will light up.6
When the toasts are ready the unit will switch off automatically, the lever ( ) will return to the initial 2
position and the button ( ) will extinguish.6
Bagel
1Insert the sliced bagels into the slots ( ). (Only the two inner heating elements will be used).
3Use the browning control ( ) to set the required operating time.

Reheating
You can heat chilled toasts in this mode without additional browning.
2Insert the toasts; press the lever ( ), the button ( ) will light up.6
Press the “Reheat” button ( ), the button will light up.5
Defrost
You can brown frozen toasts in this mode.

Press the “Defrost button ( ), the button will light up.4
“Cancel” Button
6Press the ( ) “Cancel” button if you want to interrupt the toasting process.
Extra Lift Function
2The unit is equipped with an Extra Lift Function ( ), which allows additional uplift of approx. 20mm.
For small size toasts and breads, lift the lever up to remove smaller pieces of bread.
Crumb Tray

To open the crumb tray press the tray button ( ), take it out and remove crumbs.8
Clean and Care
Make sure that the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
Wait till the toaster cools down completely.
Never immerse the unit into water or other liquids.
Wipe the outer surface of the toaster with a damp cloth, and then wipe it dry.
Remove the crumb tray, remove the crumbs and set the tray back in place.
In order to avoid damages of the unit do not insert foreign objects into bread slots.
Keep the unit in a dry cool place, out of the reach of children.
