Before y ou use the rangehoo d, we rec omme nd that yo u
read thro ugh the whole user manu al which provides
the d escription of the rang ehood and its func tions . To
avoid the ris ks th at are always present when you use an
ele ctrical appliance, i t is important that the rang ehood is
ins tall ed c orrectly an d that y ou read the sa fety i ns tructi ons
carefully to avoi d mis us e and hazards.
For future reference, pleas e s tore this booklet in a
safe place.

SAFETY INFORMATION
This manu al explains the prop er use of your new Elec trolux
canopy ra ngehood. Pl ease read thi s man ual carefully
before using the prod uct. Th is manual s houl d be kept i n a
safe place for handy reference.
This rangehood is a dom esti c applianc e which has been
manufa ctured and teste d to comply with Inte rnatio nal
Standa rd IE C 6033 5.2 .31.

WARNING!
Follow these instructions c arefully to avoid an electric
shock or fire.
Young chi ldren s houl d be supervi sed to ens ure
they do not play with the range hood.
This appl iance is not intende d for us e by pe rsons
(including chil dren) wi th re duced phys ical,
sensory or mental capabil ities, or la ck of
experience and knowled ge, unless they hav e been
given supervision or i ns tructi on concerning the
use of the a ppli ance bya person respons ible for
their safety.
Ens ure the rangehood is switch ed o ff before
carryi ng out maintenanc e, to avoid any poss ibility
of el ectric s hock.
Nev er carry out flambe c oo king und er th e
rangehood.
This rangehood is not recommended for bar ecues.b
This rangehood c annot be i nstalled for external us e.
Grease filters must be remove d every four we eks
(maximum) for cl eaning to reduce the risk of fire.
The exhaust from the rangehood mus t not be
dis c harged into any h eating flue, whic h may carry
combustion products from other so urc es .(Fi g.1)
The exhaust air must not be discharged into a wall
cavity, unless the cavity if desig ed for the purpose.n
There must be adequate ventilati on of the room
when the rangehood is us ed at the s ame time
as applianc es bu rning gas or other fuels .
Always cover lit ga s burners with pots or pans when
rangehood i s in use.
Always switch off gas burners be fore you rem ove
pots or pans.
Do no t leav e lit gas bu rners exposed due to the risk
of fi re.(Fig .2)
Check that the mains voltage matches with the voltage
on the data plate inside the rangehood. Check that
the i nstallati on compl ies with standards of local
bui lding, gas and elec trical authorities. B efore
connecting to the mai ns supply ensu re th at the mai ns
voltage corresponds to the voltage on th e rating plate
ins ide the rangehood.If the supp ly cord is damaged,
it mus t be replaced by the manufac turer or its s ervi ce
agent or si mi larly qualified person in order to avoid a
haz ard.

When i ns tall ing the rangehood, make sure y ou
adhere to the mini mum and max im um distances
from the rangehood base to th e ho b s urface
(as p er ta ble on page 6).
Exhaust flue installation: The followi ng rules m ust
be strictly followed to obtain optimal air ex traction .
Kee p exhaus t flue short and straig ht
Do not reduce the si ze or restrict exha ust flue.
Keep bends in the exhaust flue to a minim um.
W hen using fl exible flue always ins tall duc t wi th
heli x pul led taut to mi nimi se press ure loss .
Fail ure to ob serve these basi c i ns tructions w ill
drastic al ly reduc e the pe rformance and in creas e
the no is e l ev els of the range h ood.
Exhaust air must not be disch arged into a wa ll cavi ty,
unl ess the cavity is designed for the purpos e. The
exhaust from the cook er hood must not be dis ch arged
into any heating fl ue, whi ch ma y c arry combus ti on
products from oth er sources.

NOTE: Some insta llations may require the te lescop ic
exhaust cove r to be cut to length. Cut with sh arp tin
snips or a fine-tooth ha ck saw blade, tak ing are not
to di stort or dent the ex haus t cov er.
