‧DANGER – To avoid possible electric shock, special care
should be taken since water is employed in the use of aquarium
equipment. For each of the following situations, do not attempt
repairs by yourself. Return the appliance to an authorized service
facility for service or discard the appliance.
‧If the appliance shows any sign of abnormal water leakage,
immediately unplug it from the power source.
‧Carefully examine the appliance after installation. It should not be
plugged in if there is water on parts not intended to be wet.
‧Unplug the appliance from the socket outlet to disable any remote
command.
‧Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug,
or if it is malfunctioning or has been dropped or damaged in any
manner.
‧To avoid the possibility of the appliance plug or receptacle getting
wet, position aquarium stand and tank to one side of a wall-mount
-
ed receptacle to prevent water from dripping onto the receptacle
or plug. A ”drip loop”, shown in the gure, should be arranged by
the user for each cord connecting an aquarium appliance to a
receptacle. The ”drip loop” is that part of the cord below the level
of the receptacle, or the connector if an extension cord is used, to
prevent water traveling along the cord and coming in contact with
the receptacle. If the plug or socket does get wet, unplug DON’T
the cord. Disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies
power to the appliance. Then unplug and examine for presence of
water in the receptacle.
‧Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or
near children.
‧To avoid injury, do not touch moving parts or hot parts such as
heaters, reectors, lamp bulbs, and the like.
‧Always unplug an appliance from an outlet when not in use, before
putting on or taking o parts, and before cleaning. Never yank cord
to pull plug from outlet. Grasp the plug and pull to disconnect.
‧Do not use an appliance for anything other than its intended use.
The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appli-
ance manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.

Application
The EHEIM thermocontrole is an adjustable heater for aquariums. The temperature
range is 20 – 32°C ±0.5°C or 68 – 90°F ±1,0 °F.
The appliance and all parts included in the scope of delivery are intended for
private use and must only be used indoors, exclusively for aquariums and in
compliance with the technical data.
The appliance must not be used for commercial or industrial purposes.

Safety
Risks for persons and property can arise from this appliance if the appliance is im-
properly used or not used as intended or if the safety instructions are not heeded.
For your safety
‧Do not let the appliance packaging and small parts get into the hands of
children or people who are unaware of how to handle them, as hazards can
arise (danger of suocation!). Keep away from animals.
‧This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they are under the supervision of someone responsible
for their safety or have received instruction on usage of the appliance from
said person. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
‧Only for European markets:
This appliance can be used by children from the age of 3 and by persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or
knowledge if they are supervised and have been instructed in the safe use of
the appliance and have understood the resulting dangers. Children must not
play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried
out by children unless they are supervised.
‧Before use, carry out a visual inspection to ensure that the appliance,
especially the mains cable and plug, are undamaged. Make sure that the glass
body of the heating rod is not broken or cracked.
‧Before commissioning, the appliance must be immersed to the MIN. WATER
LEVEL marking underneath the water, and no less. The appliance must never
be operated out of water.
‧After disconnection from the mains, the appliance must be left in the water for
30 minutes in order to cool down.
‧A hot appliance must never be placed on heat-sensitive surfaces!
‧Repairs must only be carried out by an EHEIM service centre.
‧The mains cable of this appliance cannot be replaced. If the cable is damaged,
the appliance must be scrapped.
‧Only carry out the work described in these instructions.
‧ Never make technical modications to the appliance.
‧Only use original spare parts and accessories for the appliance.
‧We recommend protecting all electrical aquarium appliances via a residual
current protective device with a rated residual current of 30 mA maximum.
‧If they are not being used, always disconnect all devices in the aquarium from
the power supply before you install/remove any parts and before all cleaning
and maintenance work.
‧Protect the mains socket and mains plug against
moisture and wetness. A drip loop must be
formed with the mains cable.
This prevents any water running along the cable
to the mains socket, which would result in a
short-circuit.
‧The electrical data of the appliance must match
the data of the power mains. This data is found on the type plate, the packag-
ing and in these instructions.
‧Danger of burning! The appliance is very hot during and directly after opera

tion. Never touch hot parts or the heating zone!

▶Para que el agua se caliente de manera uniforme, debe
circular con fuerza alrededor del calentador. Por esta razón, el
calentador debe ubicarse en una zona donde la corriente de
agua sea fuerte.
▶Montar el calentador siempre en posición vertical.
Manejo
Conexión/desconexión del calentador
1. Inserte el enchufe en la toma de corriente. El indicador de

2. Para desconectar, extraiga el enchufe de la toma de corriente.
Ajustar la temperatura
1. Gire primero el anillo de ajuste

hacia atrás hasta el tope

2. Ajuste la temperatura deseada girando el anillo de ajuste.
Mientras se está calentando, el indicador de control

ilumina en rojo. Al alcanzar la temperatura indicada, el indicador

Antes de retirar el calentador
¡ADVERTENCIA! Peligro de quemaduras y de incendio por
supercies calientes.
▶Deje que el aparato se enfríe en el agua durante al menos
30 minutos antes de retirarlo.
Si hubiera retirado el calentador accidentalmente durante el
funcionamiento:
▶No vuelva a sumergirlo en el agua.
▶ No toque las supercies calientes.
▶Extraiga el enchufe de la toma de corriente y deje que el
calentador se enfríe durante al menos 1 hora sobre una base
resistente al calor.
Interruptor de protección térmica
El calentador incorpora un interruptor térmico como medida de protección frente a
un posible sobrecalentamiento y el consiguiente peligro de incendio. El calentador
se apaga por sí solo en caso de que por error se ponga en funcionamiento fuera
del agua o con un nivel de agua demasiado bajo. Después del enfriamiento el
calentador se pone de nuevo en funcionamiento automáticamente.
Mantenimiento
¡PRECAUCIÓN! Riesgo de daños materiales.
▶No utilice productos de limpieza agresivos ni objetos duros para
realizar las labores de limpieza.
▶¡El aparato no es apto para el lavavajillas! No lave el aparato
en un lavavajillas.
Limpieza
1. Desconecte el calentador de la corriente.
2. Deje que el aparato se enfríe en el agua durante al menos
30 minutos.
3. Extraiga el aparato del acuario.
4. Limpie el aparato con abundante agua corriente.

▶Para um aquecimento uniforme da água, o aquecedor tem de
ser bem circulado por água. Por isso, posicione o aquecedor
numa zona com uma forte circulação.
▶Monte o aquecedor apenas em posição vertical.
Operação
Ligar/desligar o aquecedor
1. Ligue a cha de rede à tomada de rede. A luz de controlo

acende-se.
2. Para uma desativação, desligue a cha de rede da tomada
de rede.
Ajustar a temperatura
1. Rode primeiro o anel de ajuste

2. Ajuste a temperatura pretendida, rodando o anel de ajuste.
Durante o aquecimento, a luz de controlo

▶Controle a temperatura da água em intervalos regulares.
Antes de retirar o aquecedor
AVISO! Queimaduras e perigo de incêndio devido a superfícies
quentes.
▶Deixe arrefecer o aparelho durante, no mínimo, 30 minutos na
água antes de o retirar.
No caso de ter retirado acidentalmente o aquecedor durante o
funcionamento:
▶Nunca volte a mergulhar o aquecedor na água.
▶Nunca toque em superfícies quentes.
▶ Desligue a cha de rede e deixe arrefecer o aquecedor sobre
uma superfície insensível ao calor durante, no mínimo, 1 hora.
Disjuntor térmico
O aquecedor está equipado com um disjuntor térmico para proteção contra um
sobreaquecimento e um consequente perigo de incêndio. O aquecedor desliga-se
no caso de um funcionamento acidental fora da água ou no caso de um nível
de água demasiado baixo. Após o arrefecimento, o aquecedor volta a ligar-se
automaticamente.
Manutenção
CUIDADO! Danos materiais.
▶ Para ns de limpeza, nunca utilize objetos duros ou agentes de
limpeza agressivos.
▶O aparelho não é apropriado para lavagem na máquina de lavar
louça! Não lave o aparelho na máquina de lavar louça.
Limpeza
1. Desligue o aquecedor da rede elétrica.
2. Deixe o aparelho arrefecer na água durante, no mínimo,
30 minutos.
3. Retire o aparelho do aquário.
4. Limpe o aquecedor sob água corrente.
