1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE
Specier Note: In this article, describe qualications, regulatory requirements, certications,
eld samples, mock-ups, and pre-installation meetings.
A. Manufacturers: Firms regularly engaged in manufacture of residential multimedia
panels components of the types and sizes required, whose products have been in and
satisfactory use in similar service for not less than 10 years. Provide residential
multimedia panels components produced by a manufacturer listed in this section. and
B. Source Limitations: Obtain each type of residential multimedia panel components and
through one (1) source from a single manufacturer.
C. Residential Multimedia Panels and Components: Comply with requirements of
applicable local codes, NEC, UL, ETL, EIA, TIA, and NEMA Standards pertaining to
residential multimedia panels components UL and/or cUL classied. Comply with and .
NFPA 70.
1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
A. Deliver residential multimedia panels and components in factory labeled packages.
B. Store and handle in strict compliance with manufacturer’s written instructions and
recommendations.
C. Protect from damage due to weather, excessive temperature, and construction
operations.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 MANUFACTURERS

B. Substitutions will be considered under provisions of Section 25 . 01 00
2.2 RESIDENTIAL MULTIMEDIA PANELS (MMP)
A. Residential Multimedia Panels, General: -QOn ® Residential Multimedia Panels (MMP)
provide a central distribution point for home or small oce technologies. The
enclosures accommodate distribution of voice, data, video, audio, security, and control
applications.
B. Metal Enclosures, General: Fabricated from 20 gauge cold-rolled steel with protective
powder coat nish, glossy white color and provided with matching hinged anged cover
with lock.
1. Mounting slots on enclosure permit adjustment for dierent gypsum board
thicknesses. Provide 1/2-inch, 5/8-inch, and 3/4-inch depth marks on enclosure
for alignment.
2. Lance slots within enclosure for hook- -loop fastener or vinyl cable ties. and
3. Flush mount cover overlaps 3/4-inch to hide gypsum board cuts around the
MMP.

4. Enclosure ships with cardboard insert to prevent debris or paint over-spray from
entering the MMP during rough-in stage of installation.
5. Provide mounting hooks on cover to align screw holes for ease of installation.
6. Multiple knockouts on enclosure support conduit up to two (2) inches in diameter
and facilitate cable routing and entry.
7. Holds 1/4, 1/2 and full-width expansion modules with ability to mount most
modules either vertically or horizontally.
8. Provide for bonding and grounding to meet TIA/EIA 606 Standards.
9. Conformance with Standards: Comply with TIA/EIA 568-A and TIA/EIA 570-A
requirements and meet FCC Part 68.
10. Enclosure to be UL listed in accordance with ANSI/UL 985, ANSI/UL 1023,
CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 182.4-1990, ULC-S545, and CSA-C22.2 No. 144.1 (2006).
Specier Note: Enclosure size, data module, voice module, and video module selection will
depend on application variables, such as ber or copper, Cat , Cat 6, or Cat 6a, size of 5e
residence, etc. Retain as many of t following ve (5) enclosures as required for a specic he
project and delete the others.
Specier Note: The enclosures in the ve (5) paragraphs can accommodate a variety of
modules. Select desired modules from Article 2.3 below.
Specier Note: The 14"-42" metal enclosures the ve (5) paragraphs below are also available
with screw on doors (ENXX00), enclosure only (ENXX80), hinged cover only (ENXX60),
screw on cover only (ENXX20), and an enclosure with knockouts (ENXX85). Revise the cata-
log number and description accordingly to reect the type of enclosure desired.
C. Metal Enclosures:
1. 42" Enclosure: Catalog No. EN4250 enclosure with hinged cover and lock;
minimum dimensions shall be 42" H x 14. " W x 3.6" D. 25
2. 28" Enclosure: Catalog No. EN2850 enclosure with hinged cover and lock;
minimum dimensions shall be 28" H x 14.25" W x 3.6" D.
3. 20" Enclosure: Catalog No. EN2050 enclosure with hinged cover and lock;
minimum dimensions shall be 20" H x 14.25" W x 3.6" D.
4. 14" Enclosure: Catalog No. EN1450 enclosure with hinged cover and lock;
minimum dimensions shall be 14" H x 14. " W x 3.6" D. 25
D. Plastic Enclosures for General Structured Wiring, General: Fabricated from UL-rated
ABS plastic, paintable white color and provided with matching hinged anged cover.
Enclosure accommodates both wired structured wiring systems and wireless
networking equipment. Complies with UL60950-1 and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 60950- -01
07. RoHS Compliant.
1. Plastic enclosure allows wireless devices such as access points to secure in
cabinet without degrading network performance.
2. Enclosure can be surface or ush mounted. Staggered tabs allow side- -side by
installation of multiple enclosures.
3. Meets or exceeds requirements of UL Standard 2416. For use in non-re-rated
walls.
4. Universal mounting grid compatible with distribution modules from multiple
manufacturers.
