To avoid fatigue and discomfort
when using the stylus, do not grip it
tightly or press it hard against the
screen. Keep your fingers, hand,
wrist, and arm relaxed. Long, steady,
gentle strokes work j ust as well as
many short, hard strokes.

depends on the software.
3Internet Enhancements
This software allows you to connect
to the Internet to download certain
items and receive notifications. For
more details, see the page about
Lambert Post Office.
◆ Refer to your Operations Manual for
information about connecting your
system to the Internet.
• To protect your privacy, do not
give out personal information, such
as last name, phone number, birth
date, age, school, e-mail, or home
address when communicating with
others.
• Friend codes are a part of a system
that allows you to play with people
you know. If you exchange friend
codes with strangers, there is a risk

system's Internet browser can be
restricted by adjusting the options in
Parental Controls.

New Game
◆ Whichever one you choose, the
basic story remains the same.
Select t his option from the title
screen to start a new game.
Your n ame can be up t o 8
characters long.
Yo-kai Cam (page 28)
This option will open up after you
reach a certain point in the game.
You can play as a
boy or a girl.

save your progress before turning
off the Nintendo 3DS system.

About the Camera
You can use the Nintendo 3DS
camera to read QR Code patterns
at Lambert Post Office (page 21)
or photograph people with the
Yo-kai Cam (page 28). Before
doing so, please check that you
have e nough space in y our
surrounding area, and be sure to
hold the system firmly in both
hands. Please do not move the
system about too wildly, as this
may lead to injury.

8How to Play
Control the main character and
explore Springdale. When you get in
a battle, help your Yo-kai friends
defeat the enemy.

Making Yo-kai Friends
Certain enemy Yo-
kai you defeat in
battle will want to
bec o me y o ur
friends. When you
become friends with Yo-kai, you can
g iv e t he m a n ic k name u p to 8
characters long.

You can switch freely between the
two functions.
Yo-kai Radar / Watch
As y o u ge t cl ose t o a
hidden Yo-kai, the radar
n ee d l e wil l mo v e
clockwise. You'll find the
Yo-kai hid den near t he
spot where the radar goes
into the red.
You can check the current
time.
If you run into an enemy, you'l l
enter a battle (page 16).

Press in the direction you would
like to move your character. Move it
lightly to walk.
You can also touch and slide on the
Touch Screen in the direction you
want to move.
Once you have a bike, press to
get on it. (There are parts of the
map where you cannot ride a bike.)

press the A Button

Screen. Press to
stop the spinning indicator. If you
land on one of the yellow bars, the
bug will be yours!
Use Black Syrup with to increase
the number of bars on the wheel
and make it easier to catch the bug.
Radar Mode

Yo-kai, keep your

gauge will fill up.
When it fills up all
the way, the Yo-kai will be fully
