Informationen zum Vorbild
Standard-Diesellokomotiven von Henschel werden
in aller Welt bei Werks- und Hafenbahnen eingesetzt.
Sie sind in Hüttenwerken und beim Bergbau ebenso
vertreten wie in der Automobilindustrie und den
Zuckerfabriken. Ein Baukastensystem mit Motoren
zwischen 360 und 900 PS bringt durch die Tausch-
barkeit vieler Komponenten bedeutende wirtschaftliche
und betriebliche Vorteile.
Die ursprüngliche Bauart DH wurde mechanisch
über eine Blindwelle und seitliche Kuppelstangen
angetrieben. Die typische Karosserie-Form der klei-
nen Henschel-Loks mit mittlerem Führerhaus und
abgerundeten Vorbauten wurde für die schwerere
Type DHG mit hydraulischem Getriebe leicht verän-
dert. In den 70er-Jahren erfuhren die ausgelieferten
Maschinen ein Facelift mit modernen kantig gestal-
teten Aufbauten. Ab etwa 1980 wurden die Fahr-
gestelle nicht mehr auf Blattfedern, sondern auf
Schraubenfedern gelagert. Heute sind alle Bauformen
dieser Lokomotiven noch anzutreffen. Die Maschinen
haben zum Teil mehrfach den Besitzer gewechselt
und sind kundenspezifisch umgebaut worden.
Information about the Prototype
Henschel’s standard diesel locomotives are used
all over the world on industrial and harbor railroads.
They can be found at steel factories and mines as
well as in the automobile industry and sugar refineries.
A unit assembly approach with motors between 360
and 900 hp has significant economic and operating
advantages due to the interchangeability of many
components.
The original DH design was powered mechanically
using a jackshaft and side rods. The typical shape
and form of the superstructure for these small
Henschel locomotives with a center cab and rounded
hoods was changed slightly for the heavy type DHG
with hydraulic drive gear. In the 1970s the units that
had been delivered were given a facelift with modern
superstructures with squared off corners and edges.
Starting about 1980 the frames were mounted on
coil springs instead of leaf springs. All of the various
versions of these locomotives can still be seen today.
Some of these units have changed owners several
times and habe been rebuilt to meet the requirements
of individual customers.

On peut rencontrer les locotracteurs standard Diesel de
Henschel dans le monde entier, que ce soit dans les
grands ensembles sidérurgiques ou sur le carreau des
mines, dans l’industrie automobile ou dans les sucre-
ries. Du fait de l’interchangeabilité de nombreux com-
posants, un système modulaire avec des moteurs entre
360 et 900 CV apporte de nombreux avantages tant
sur le plan économique que sur celui de l’exploitation.
Dans sa version d’origine, le type DH possédait une
transmission par bielle commandée par un faux
essieu. La carrosserie typique de cette petite loco-
motive Henschel, avec cabine au centre et capots
aux angles arrondis, fut légèrement modifiée lors de
la construction de la version plus lourde du type DHG
qui elle reçut une transmission hydraulique. Dans le
courant des années septante, ces machines firent
l’objet d’une modernisation et reçurent une carros-
serie moderne aux angles plus aigus. À partir de 1980,
les suspensions à lames de ressorts du châssis furent
remplacées par des ressorts hélicoïdaux. Toutefois,
aujourd’hui encore, on peut rencontrer toutes les
variantes de construction de cette locomotive. D’autre
part, ces machines ayant souvent changées de pro-
priétaire, un bon nombre d’entre-elles firent l’objet de
modifications spécifiques à la demande de l’acpuéreur.

Diesellocomotieven van het fabrikaat Henschel
worden over de gehele wereld op fabrieks- en haven-
emplacementen ingezet. Ze zijn tevens veelvuldig
in gebruik bij de meest uiteenlopende industrieën,
zoals de staal-, auto en suikerindustrie en de mijn-
bouw. Een bouwdoossysteem met motoren tussen
360 en 900 pk biedt door de verwisselbaarheid van
veel componenten belangrijke econimische en be-
drijfstechnische voordelen.
In de oorspronkelijke bouwwijze werd de DH mecha-
nisch via een blindwiel en koppelstangen aange-
dreven. De typische carrosserie vorm van de kleine
Henschel locomotieven, met het machinistenhuis in
het midden en afgeronde hoeken van de voorbouw,
werd voor het zwaardere type de DHG met een
hydraulische aandrijving enig sinds veranderd. De,
in de zeventiger jaren uitgeleverde, locomotieven
kregen een facelift waardoor de carrosserie een
strakker uiterlijk kreeg. Rond 1980 werd het onder-
stel niet meer op bladveren, maar op schroefveren
gelagerd. Heden ten dage zijn alle uitvoeringen van
deze locomotieven nog her en der aan te treffen.
De machines zijn soms meerdere keren van eigenaar
veranderd en aan de wensen van de gebruiker aan-
gepast of omgebouwd.
