Hardware Setup

Mounting

Mount the ampliﬁ er to the desired

location using the included screws. Do

not drill into any electronics, wiring, or

vehicle mechanisms.

Install a fuse within 18” of battery and

in-line with power cable connected

If your source unit uses HI-Level outputs, use the KICKER KISL

to easily attach RCA plugs to your bare wires. Consult a mobile

electronics specialist if you are unsure. See the following diagram for

IQRC Installation

With the IQRC, you have the ability to control the gain, bass boost,

center frequency, and bandwidth levels remotely for up to two

matched ampliﬁ ers. Push the control knob to select the feature,

then rotate to increase or decrease the values. To surface-mount

the IQRC remote bass level control, screw the remote to the chosen

location, then run the cable from the controller to the “IQRC” jack on

the ampliﬁ er panel. Do connect/disconnect while the ampliﬁ er NOT

is on. AMP 1 must be connected before AMP 2 will be made active.

The IQ-Series is unlike any ampliﬁ er on the market today. It is fully

functional using the analog end panel controls, but unlocks its full

potential when the DSP (Digital Signal Processor) is taken advantage

of. We recommend familiarizing yourself with the following controls.

AUTO TURN-ON: Set the switch to +12V to use the remote

turn-on lead from your source unit. Run 18 gauge wire from the

Remote Turn-On Lead on your source unit to the terminal labeled

REM between the ampliﬁ er’s positive and negative power terminals.

The DC Offset mode detects a 6V DC offset from the HI-Level

speaker outputs when the source unit has been turned on. The

Audio setting detects the incoming audio signal from your source

unit and automatically turns on the amp. Using either the DC Offset

or Audio mode causes the REM terminal to have a +12V out for

turning on additional ampliﬁ ers.

INPUT LEVEL: The RCA inputs on KICKER IQ ampliﬁ ers are

capable of receiving either Hi or Low-level signals from a source unit.

GAIN: The input gain control is not a volume control. It matches the

output of the source unit to the input level of the ampliﬁ er. Turn the

source unit up to about 3/4 volume. Next, slowly turn the gain up

until you can hear audible distortion, then turn it down a little.

X-OVER: Use the XOVER switch(es) on the end panel of the

ampliﬁ er to set the internal crossovers to OFF, HI, or LO. When the

switch is set to OFF, a full bandwidth signal will be ampliﬁ ed. Set the

switch to HI if you want the ampliﬁ er’s internal crossover to serve

as a high-pass ﬁ lter. Set the switch to LO if you want the ampliﬁ er’s

internal crossover to serve as a low-pass ﬁ lter.

FADER: Turn on the FADER switch if you are running two sets of

inputs to the ampliﬁ er. Leave the fader switch OFF if you want to

drive all channels from a single stereo input.

KICK EQ: Adjust the bass boost from 0–18dB, centered at 40Hz.

PANEL LOCK: When active (LED ON) the ampliﬁ er is using the

settings from the Tweeq software. When it is not active (LED OFF)

the ampliﬁ er is using the end panel controls.

GUI: Connect to your computer or tablet and run the KICKER

TWEEQ software for real-time control of your amp’s DSP.

Software Setup (Windows)

KICKER TWEEQ may be compatible with the Mac OS through Boot Camp, but is not supported.

TWEEQ is a new DSP software conﬁ guration tool for the IQ-series of amps. Because

the smartest amp demands the smartest application, we’ve developed TWEEQ in-house

with our customer’s needs at the forefront of the creation process. The IQ ampliﬁ ers are

fully-functional without TWEEQ, but to get the most out of your new KICKER amp, use it

on your computer, or your tablet or phone using the IQI Bluetooth accessory, and hear the

difference!

Installation

Visit www.kicker.com/tweeq and click

the DOWNLOAD button. Open the

installation ﬁ le and follow the instructions

to complete the installation.

Setup

Power on and connect your IQ

ampliﬁ er to your computer via

mini-USB connection. Run Tweeq.

exe and wait for the software to

scan for any connected ampliﬁ ers.

You will be prompted to begin the

conﬁ guration wizard.

TWEEQ will scan and identify all

connected ampliﬁ ers. KICKER has

support for multi-amp installations

using the IQI accessory. You may also

use a USB hub to connect multiple

amps, however technical support is not

available for this setup.

Choose to bridge the channels if both

channels are used to drive a common

load.

Turn the FADER ON if you are running

two sets of inputs to the ampliﬁ er. Turn

the FADER OFF if you want to drive all

channels from a single stereo input.

For example, turn the FADER ON if you

are only using AMP 1 as your input

source. Select the input source for the

subwoofer signal, if applicable.

Select the type of driver used by each

channel. This will assist the TWEEQ

software in automatically conﬁ guring your

crossover. See Page 13 for reference

chart.

Select the speaker-size for each

channel. This further assists the software

in conﬁ guring your crossover. If you have

a 2 or 4-channel amp and selected to

use a Full-Range signal in the previous

window you will not see this dialog box.

Set the distance of each speaker from

the primary listening position. This will

automatically conﬁ gure the correct

time-delay for each speaker to present

the best sound-stage. The Reference

Speaker setting should be set if there is

a speaker in use that is not connected to

your currently chosen amp, and is also

the farthest from the listening position.

Congratulations! Your IQ Ampliﬁ er has

been automatically conﬁ gured using

the TWEEQ Wizard. You may save this

preset by selecting File>Save at the top

left of the application. It is recommended

that you save this initial conﬁ guration for

restoration and A/B listening purposes.

Instalación de IQRC

Con el IQRC puede controlar de forma remota la ganancia de

entrada, el ampliﬁ cador de bajas frecuencias, la frecuencia central

y los niveles de ancho de banda de hasta dos ampliﬁ cadores

sincronizados. Presione la perilla de control para seleccionar la

función; luego, gírela para incrementar o reducir los valores. Para

instalar el control remoto de niveles de bajas frecuencias IQRC,

atornille el remoto en la ubicación seleccionada y luego tienda

el cable del controlador al enchufe hembra del IQRC en el panel

Los ampliﬁ cadores de la Serie-IQ son diferentes a todos los ampliﬁ cadores del

mercado actual. Son completamente funcionales con los controles analógicos

de la placa terminal y despliegan todo su potencial cuando se aprovecha el

procesador digital de señales (DSP). Le recomendamos que se familiarice con los

controles siguientes.

ENCENDIDO AUTOMÁTICO: Conﬁ gure el interruptor en +12 V para usar el

conductor de encendido remoto de la unidad de alimentación. Tienda un cable

calibre 18 desde el conductor de encendido remoto en la unidad de alimentación

hasta el terminal con la etiqueta REM entre los terminales de alimentación

Empareja la salida de la unidad de alimentación con el nivel de entrada del

ampliﬁ cador. Suba el volumen de la unidad de alimentación unos 3/4. Luego,

suba la ganancia lentamente hasta que pueda escuchar una distorsión y bájela

levemente.

DIVISOR DE FRECUENCIAS: Utilice los interruptores del divisor de

frecuencias de la placa terminal del ampliﬁ cador para conﬁ gurar las divisiones

de frecuencias internas en desconectado (OFF), alto (HI) o bajo (LO). Cuando

Instalación del software (Windows)

TWEEQ buscará y detectará todos los

ampliﬁ cadores conectados. KICKER es

Seleccione el tipo de conductor utilizado

IQRC Installation

Mit IQRC können Sie die Eingangsverstärkung, den Bass-Boost, die

Mittelfrequenz und die Bandbreitenpegel für bis zu zwei passende

Verstärker fernsteuern. Drücken Sie den Reglerknopf, um die Funktion

auszuwählen, und drehen Sie den Knopf, um die Werte zu erhöhen oder

zu verringern. Zur Oberﬂ ächemontage der IQRC-Fernbedienung für den

Basspegel, schrauben Sie die Fernbedienung am der gewünschten

Stelle an und führen Sie das Kabel vom Controller zur “IQRC”-Buchse auf

dem Bedienfeld des Verstärkers. NICHT verbinden/trennen, während der

Verstärker eingeschaltet ist. AMP 1 muss angeschlossen werden, bevor

AMP 2 aktiviert wird.

Die IQ-Serie hebt sich von allen Verstärkern ab, die derzeit auf dem Markt

erhältlich sind. Die Verstärker sind über die Steuerelemente des analogen

Bedienfelds voll funktionsfähig. Ihr volles Potenzial kann jedoch nur genutzt

werden, wenn der DSP (Digital Signal Processor) verwendet wird. Wir

empfehlen, sich mit den folgenden Steuerelementen vertraut zu machen.

AUTOMATISCH EINSCHALTEN: Stellen Sie den Schalter auf +12V, um

die Fernsteuerleitung von der Quelleinheit zu verwenden. Führen Sie ein

Kabel mit der Drahtstärke 18 von der Remoteleitung der Quelleinheit zum

REM-Anschluss zwischen dem positiven und negativen Netzanschluss

des Verstärkers. Der DC-Offset-Modus erkennt einen 6V DC-Offset der

Hochpegel-Lautsprecherausgänge, wenn die Quelleinheit eingeschaltet

wird. Die Audio-Einstellung erkennt das von der Quelleinheit eingehende

Audiosignal und schaltet den Verstärker automatisch ein. Im DC-Offset-

oder Audiomodus hat das REM-Terminal einen +12V Ausgang, um

zusätzliche Verstärker zu aktivieren.

EINGANGSPEGEL: Die RCA-Eingänge der KICKER IQ-Verstärker können

hohe oder niedrige Signale von der Quelleinheit empfangen.

VERSTÄRKUNG: Das Steuerelement für die Eingangsverstärkung ist

keine Lautstärkeregelung. Es gleicht den Ausgang der Quelleinheit an

den Eingangspegel des Verstärkers an. Drehen Sie die Quelleinheit zu

ca. drei Viertel der Lautstärke auf. Drehen Sie anschließend langsam die

Verstärkung auf, bis Sie eine hörbare Verzerrung wahrnehmen, und drehen

Sie sie etwas zurück.

CROSSOVER: Verwenden Sie die XOVER-Schalter an der Rückseite des

Verstärkers, um den internen Crossover auf OFF, HI oder LO festzulegen.

In der Position OFF wird der volle Signalbereich verstärkt. Verwenden

Sie die Position HI, wenn der interne Crossover des Verstärkers als

Hochpassﬁ lter dienen soll. Verwenden Sie die Position LO, wenn der

interne Crossover des Verstärkers als Tiefpassﬁ lter dienen soll.

FADER: Schalten Sie den FADER ein, wenn Sie zwei Eingangsgruppen

mit dem Verstärker verwenden. Schalten Sie den FADER aus, wenn Sie

alle Kanäle über einen einzigen Stereoeingang steuern.

KICK EQ: Stellen Sie den Bass-Boost von 0 bis 18dB ein, zentriert bei

40Hz.

PANEL LOCK: Wenn aktiv (LED ON) verwendet der Verstärker die

Einstellungen der Tweeq-Software. Wenn NICHT aktiv (LED OFF)

verwendet der Verstärker die Steuerelemente auf dem Bedienfeld.

GUI: Schließen Sie Ihren Computer oder Ihr Tablet an und führen Sie die

KICKER TWEEQ-Software aus, um den DSP des Verstärkers in Echtzeit zu

steuern.

intelligenteste Verstärker die intelligenteste Anwendung erfordert, haben wir TWEEQ unter

Berücksichtigung der Anforderungen unserer Kunden intern entwickelt. Die IQ-Verstärker

sind auch ohne TWEEQ voll funktionsfähig. Um jedoch das Meiste aus Ihrem neuen

KICKER-Verstärker herauszuholen, verwenden Sie Ihren Computer, Ihr Tablet oder Ihr

Telefon mit IQI Bluetooth. Sie werden den Unterschied hören!
