IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using your Kenmore Digital Air Fryer Toaster Oven, basic safety precautions
should always be followed, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
2. Before using the appliance for the rst time, remove any packaging material, promo-
tional labels, and stickers. Safely dispose of plastic bags or small pieces that could
present a suocation or choking hazard to young children.
3. Before using, check that the voltage of the wall outlet corresponds to the one shown
on the rating plate. Do not attempt to use the appliance with a voltage converter. To
prevent overloading the electrical circuit, operate the convection oven on a separate
circuit from other appliances.
4. POLARIZED PLUG: This appliance is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is
wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will t in a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still
does not t, contact a qualied electrician. DO NOT attempt to alter the plug in any way
to make it t.
5. SHORT CORD: This appliance is designed with a short power cord (or detachable cord)
to reduce the risk of injury or property damage from tripping, pulling, or entanglement.
It can be used with an extension cord provided you observe the following safeguards:
a. The marked electrical rating of the extension cord must be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance;
b. The cord should be arranged so it will not drape over the edge of a countertop or
table where it could be pulled on by children or tripped over.
6. Do not attempt to operate the appliance if there is damage to the cord or plug, after
it has malfunctioned or been dropped or damaged in any way, or if it is not operating
properly. Take the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination
and adjustment or repair.
7. Always unplug the appliance from the power source and let it cool completely before
cleaning, putting on or taking o parts, or storing. To unplug, press the START/CANCEL
button and then grasp plug and pull it from the electrical outlet; never unplug it by
pulling on the power cord.
8. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the convection oven body, control
panel, power cord, or electrical plug in any liquid. If the appliance falls into or accidental-
ly becomes immersed in water, immediately unplug it from the wall outlet. DO NOT
REACH INTO THE WATER.
9. When deciding where to set up your convection oven, observe the following
safeguards:
a. Do not use near the edge of a counter or table or on an unstable, wet or uneven
surface;
b. Do not use on or near a hot surface such as a stovetop or in a heated oven;
c. Do not use on a metal surface such as a sink drain board;
d. Never let the cord touch hot surfaces or hang over the edge of a table or counter.
10. Do not store anything other than the included accessories in the appliance when
not in use.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
11. This appliance generates heat and vents steam during use. To reduce the risk of
injury, re, overheating, malfunction, warping, or discoloration, observe the following
precautions:
a. Ensure that there is adequate air space above and on all sides for air circulation;
b. Do not cover the convection oven with anything that would prevent steam from
escaping;
c. Do not store any items on top of the appliance or allow the appliance to contact
ammable material such as draperies, wall coverings, clothing, or dish towels while in
operation;
d. Do not cover any part of the convection oven, including the crumb tray, with metal
foil;
e. Do not leave the appliance unattended during use.
12. Do not place any of the following materials in the convection oven: Paper,
cardboard, plastic, or any other materials that could melt or catch re. Extreme caution
should be exercised when using containers constructed of materials other than metal or
glass. Do not insert oversized foods or metal utensils in the convection oven.
13. Never set the wire rack, baking pan/drip tray, or air fryer/dehydrator basket directly
onto the lower heating elements.
14. To reduce the risk of burns or other injuries, do not touch hot surfaces. Use the
handles or knobs when operating the convection oven. Use of protective oven mitts
and long-handled utensils is recommended. Use extreme caution when removing the
crumb tray, disposing or hot grease, or moving any vessel or appliance containing hot
oil or other liquids.
15. Regularly clean the convection oven and accessories using the cleaning instructions
in this manual. Do not use abrasive cleansers or scouring pads that could scratch the
ovens surface. Do not use metal scouring pads as pieces could break o and touch
electrical parts, causing electric shock.
16. This appliance is recommended for indoor household use only. Do not operate in
moving vehicles or boats and do not operate outdoors. Using this appliance for
anything other than its intended use will void your warranty.
17. This appliance is not intended for use by persons, including children, with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, without
supervision and instruction by a person responsible for their safety. Close supervision is
necessary when any appliance is used by or near children to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance.
18. Do not attempt to operate the convection oven by any method other than as
described in this manual. Do not use accessory attachments other than those provided.
The use of aftermarket attachments or accessories not recommended by Kenmore will
void your warranty and may cause re, electrical shock, or injury.
19. If this appliance starts to malfunction during use, press the START/CANCEL button
and unplug it from the wall outlet. Do not use or attempt to repair a malfunctioning
appliance. For any maintenance other than cleaning, call or email Koolatron Customer
Assistance (1-800-265-8456 or service@koolatron.com)
