The new PD6000 Series joins JBLs broad lineup of installed sound
loudspeakers delivering high power and constant coverage in a low-profile
form. Complementing the larger PD700 mid-high cabinets with a more
compact size, they supplement the smaller AE Series cabinets with higher
SPL capability and larger horns for pattern control. extended low-frequency
Each model features JBLs newly developed 24 by 24 inch PT Progressive
Transition mid-frequency, rotatable waveguides that are an evolution of the
waveguide technology debuted in the highly regarded JBL Professional
Application Engineered (AE) installation series. This advanced version PT
waveguide provides versatility and excellent pattern control with low distortion
and extremely natural sound character.
PD6000 Series incorporate sophisticated, steepslope passive networks that
minimize band overlap, further enhancing off-axis pattern control. Internal
switches allow the user to switch to fully active mode if desired.
Exceptional coverage and control is at the heart of the new PT

Featuring highly advanced JBL waveguide technology for excellent
coverage, precise control, and ease of use.
Rotate 90º Vertical Horizontal
NEW! Injection-molded PT Progressive Transition Waveguides provide
excellent coverage and precise control, with a unique, mathematically-
continuous surface that defines the waveguide from transducer-throat to
waveguide-mouth. By eliminating the traditional diffraction slot, the waveguide
allows the sidewalls to transition smoothly from the driver throat through to

frequency response, excellent pattern control, and lower distortion. To enhance
their configurability, they can be rotated so the system can be used in either
the vertical or horizontal orientation.

performing arts facilities, auditoriums, houses of worship, and dance clubs.
The PD6000 Series consists of 14 models, which include four 3-way full-range
systems, four 12-inch 2-way systems, four 2-way mid-high systems and two low-
frequency models. Coverage patterns include the original 40 x 30, 60 x 40, and 90
x 50. With the introduction of the PD6000 Series, an additional coverage pattern of
60 x 60 is now available.
Both the mid-frequency 24 x 24-inch and the high-frequency 12 x 12-inch PT
waveguides provide excellent pattern control along with low distortion and extremely
natural sounding characteristics. Their rotatablility allows the system designer
greater exibility with both horizontal and vertical orientations delivering the
same performance.
Each CMCD assembly incorporates a JBL cone midrange driver, a 3 slot annular-
ring phasing plug, and a thermally conductive rear chamber. Its 4-inch exit diameter
and correct exponential expansion provide excellent coupling to the entire family of

midrange wave guides.
JBLs exclusive cone transducers feature a unique design with heat sinks integrated
into the cast aluminum frame for better heat dissipation, better performance and
lower weight. The resulting sound quality is extraordinarily transparent, even at
very high SPL.
All models include both Speakon® and CE-approved
covered barrier strip input connectors.
All PD6000 speakers offer selectable crossover
modes. Two-Way speakers operate in either bi-
amp or passive mode while the 3-way system can
operate either in bi-amp or tri-amp mode.
