di istruzioni per l’uso” al fi ne di ottimizzarne le caratteristiche funzionali ed eliminare qualsiasi
inconveniente che potrebbe insorgere da un uso errato o non conforme dello stesso.

sotto la propria responsabilità che l’apparecchio a cui si riferisce il presente “libretto di istruzioni
per l’uso” è conforme a quanto prescritto dalla Direttiva CE in materia di apparecchi ad uso
domestico.
Si dichiara inoltre che è conforme a quanto prescritto in materia di limitazione delle perturbazioni
radio-elettriche.
Al fi ne di migliorare il prodotto per esigenze costruttive, il produttore si riserva di apportare
variazioni tecnologiche, estetiche e dimensionali senza obbligo di preavviso.
INFORMAZIONI NORMATIVE
L’apparecchio oggetto del presente libretto
è conforme alle Direttive: 2006/95/CE e 2004/108/CE.
QUESTO APPARECCHIO È INTESO PER USO DOMESTICO O SIMILARE, COME AD ESEMPIO:
- aree cucina in negozi, uffi ci e altri ambienti lavorativi;
- cascine;
- bed and breakfast e strutture simili;
- hotel, motel e altri ambienti residenziali (solo dai clienti).

AVVERTENZE GENERALI
Leggere attentamente le avvertenze contenute nelle presenti istruzioni in quanto forniscono
importanti indicazioni riguardanti la sicurezza di installazione, d’uso e di manutenzione. Conservare
con cura questo libretto per ogni ulteriore consultazione.
• Dopo aver tolto l’imballaggio e prima di ogni uso assicurarsi dell’integrità meccanica dell’apparecchio e di
tutti i suoi accessori.
• La guaina e la spina del cavo di alimentazione non devono evidenziare screpolature o rotture.
• Nel caso si verifi chi quanto sopra, non utilizzare l’apparecchio, staccare subito la spina dalla presa di
corrente e portarlo presso un centro di assistenza tecnica autorizzato per le necessarie verifi che.
• Gli elementi dell’imballaggio (sacchetti in plastica, polistirolo espanso, chiodi, ecc.) non devono essere
lasciati alla portata dei bambini in quanto potenziali fonti di pericolo.
• Prima di collegare l’apparecchio accertarsi che i dati targa siano rispondenti a quelli della rete di distribuzione
elettrica. La targa è situata sul fondo del corpo apparecchio.
• In caso di incompatibilità tra la presa e la spina dell’apparecchio fare sostituire la presa con altra di tipo
adatto da personale professionalmente qualifi cato. Quest’ultimo, in particolare, dovrà anche accertare che la
sezione dei cavi della presa sia idonea alla potenza assorbita dall’apparecchio. In generale è sconsigliabile
l’uso di adattatori, prese multiple e/o prolunghe.
Qualora il loro uso si rendesse indispensabile è necessario
utilizzare solamente adattatori semplici o multipli e prolunghe conformi alle vigenti norme di sicurezza, facendo
però attenzione a non superare il limite di portata, in valore di corrente, marcato sull’adattatore semplice e
sulle prolunghe, e quello di massima potenza marcato sull’adattatore multiplo.
Raccomandiamo di alimentare l’apparecchio per mezzo di un interruttore differenziale con
una corrente d’intervento massima di 30mA.
L’apparecchio dovrà essere tassativamente collegato alla rete elettrica per mezzo di una
presa di terra.
Evitare di scollegare l’apparecchio tirando il cavo di alimentazione.
Durante il funzionamento, la presa di corrente deve essere facilmente accessibile nel caso
in cui fosse necessario scollegare l’apparecchio.
Questo apparecchio non è inteso per essere utilizzato da persone (inclusi i
bambini) con ridotte capacità fi siche, sensoriali e mentali, o senza esperienza
e istruzione, a meno che non siano sorvegliati o istruiti all’uso da persone
responsabili della loro sicurezza.
I bambini devono essere sorvegliati perché non giochino con l’apparecchio.
• L’uso di qualsiasi apparecchio elettrico comporta l’osservanza di alcune regole fondamentali.
In particolare:
- non toccare l’apparecchio con mani bagnate o umide;
- non usare l’apparecchio a piedi nudi;
- non tirare il cavo di alimentazione o l’apparecchio stesso, per staccare la spina dalla presa di corrente;
- non lasciare esposto l’apparecchio ad agenti atmosferici (pioggia, sole, ecc.);
- non permettere che l’apparecchio sia usato da bambini o da incapaci, senza sorveglianza.
• Prima di effettuare qualsiasi operazione di pulizia o di manutenzione, disinserire l’apparecchio dalla rete
di alimentazione elettrica, o staccando la spina, o spegnendo l’interruttore dell’impianto.
• In caso di guasto e/o di cattivo funzionamento dell’apparecchio, spegnerlo e non manometterlo.

Per l’eventuale riparazione rivolgersi solamente ad un centro di assistenza tecnica autorizzato dal costruttore
e richiedere l’utilizzo di parti e ricambi originali.
Il mancato rispetto di quanto sopra può compromettere la sicurezza dell’apparecchio.
• Allorché si decida di non utilizzare più un apparecchio di questo tipo, si raccomanda di renderlo inoperante
tagliandone il cavo di alimentazione dopo aver staccato la spina dalla presa di corrente.
Si raccomanda, inoltre, di rendere innocue quelle parti dell’apparecchio suscettibili di costituire un pericolo,
specialmente per i bambini che potrebbero servirsi dell’apparecchio fuori uso per i propri giochi.
L’installazione deve essere effettuata secondo le istruzioni del costruttore. Una errata installazione
può causare danni a persone, animali o cose, nei confronti dei quali il costruttore non può essere
considerato responsabile.
• Per evitare surriscaldamenti pericolosi, si raccomanda di svolgere per tutta la sua lunghezza il cavo di
alimentazione e di utilizzare l’apparecchio come consigliato nel paragrafo “Avvertenze relative all’uso
corretto dell’apparecchio”.
• Non lasciare l’apparecchio inutilmente inserito. Staccare la spina dalla rete di alimentazione quando
l’apparecchio non è utilizzato.
• Non ostruire le aperture o fessure di ventilazione o di smaltimento calore.
• Se il cavo di alimentazione di questo apparecchio è danneggiato, deve essere sostituito esclusivamente
da un centro assistenza tecnica autorizzato dal costruttore, poiché sono necessari utensili speciali.
AVVERTENZE RELATIVE ALL’USO CORRETTO DELL’APPARECCHIO
Questo apparecchio è stato concepito per produrre caffè espresso, vapore e acqua calda per
uso domestico e solo per questo deve essere utilizzato.
Ogni altro uso è da considerarsi improprio e quindi pericoloso. Il costruttore non può essere
considerato responsabile per eventuali danni derivanti da usi impropri, erronei ed irragionevoli.
• Sistemare l’apparecchio su di una superfi cie piana, regolare e stabile.
• Non lasciare incustodito l’apparecchio durante il funzionamento.
Non lasciare l’apparecchio in ambienti la cui temperatura sia pari o inferiore a 0°C.
• Se si intende lasciare inattivo l’apparecchio per un periodo di tempo piuttosto lungo, svuotare il serbatoio
dell’acqua (5).
• Alla prima utilizzazione, la macchina potrà emanare odore di bruciato a causa dei materiali di isolamento
e degli elementi riscaldanti; il tutto è normale.
Non utilizzare l’apparecchio senza acqua nel serbatoio (5).
• Non spostare l’apparecchio quando è in funzione.
Durante l’erogazione della bevanda prestare attenzione ad eventuali schizzi di liquido caldo.
Non toccare le parti calde [tubetto erogazione vapore (8), Montalatte (9), etc.] subito dopo
l’uso dell’apparecchio.
Pericolo di scottature .
Non togliere il portafi ltro (10) durante l’erogazione della bevanda.
Il prelievo di vapore dall’apposito tubetto (8) deve essere sempre effettuato utilizzando
recipienti alti e proteggendo le mani con guanti o presine per evitare possibili scottature
.

UTILIZZO

PREPARAZIONE MACCHINA
Prima di collegare elettricamente l’apparecchio assicurarsi che l’interruttore (15) sia in
posizione di “spento” e che la manopola (17) sia in posizione “ ”.
• Posizionare l’apparecchio su una superfi cie piana e stabile.
• Sollevare il coperchio (4) e versare acqua fredda nel serbatoio (5) (quantità massima 800 ml) (fi g.“D”).
Non utilizzare l’apparecchio senza acqua nel serbatoio (5) o se il livello è inferiore al riferimento MIN
indicato sullo stesso.
• Durante l’utilizzo dell’apparecchio, è possibile riempire o rabboccare il serbatoio (5) semplicemente
sollevando il coperchio (4) (fi g.“D”), facendo attenzione a non eccedere nella quantità di acqua versata.
• Collegare elettricamente l’apparecchio assicurandosi che le caratteristiche di rete corrispondano con i dati
tecnici riportati sull’apposita targa dati posizionata sul fondo dell’apparecchio.

RISCALDAMENTO MACCHINA
Per preparare un buon caffè alla giusta temperatura occorre che la macchina sia ben calda.

• Inserire il portafi ltro (10) all’interno del suo alloggiamento (fi g.“E”).

• Posizionare una tazza sulla griglia (6) sotto al beccuccio del portafi ltro.
• Attendere che l’interruttore luminoso accensione/spegnimento

contrario la pompa non viene azionata), quindi ruotare la manopola (17) nella posizione ”

3 ....PREPARAZIONE DEL CAFFÈ
3a - Utilizzo del caffè macinato
Utilizzare caffè macinato in polvere adatto a macchine per caffè
espresso tipo “bar”.
Assicurarsi che ci sia suffi ciente acqua nel serbatoio (5).
Non utilizzare la macchina senza acqua nel serbatoio (5).
(17) sia nella posizione Accertarsi che la manopola

• Rimuovere il portafi ltro (10) dal suo alloggiamento
• Posizionare nel portafi ltro (10) il fi ltro desiderato, facendo attenzione a far combaciare le alette del fi ltro
“C1” con le fessure del portafi ltro ”C2” (fi g. “C”).
- “12” per una tazza (fi g.“F”)
- “13” per due tazze (fi g.“G”).
• Utilizzando un cucchiaino, versare 8 grammi* circa di caffè se viene utilizzato il fi ltro per una tazza (12)
oppure versare 14 grammi* circa di caffè se viene utilizzato il fi ltro per due tazze (13) (fi g.”H”).
• Premere leggermente il caffè nel fi ltro utilizzando un cucchiaino (fi g.“I”).
• Inserire il portafi ltro (10) nel suo alloggiamento (fi g.“E”).
E’ necessario, inserire il portafi ltro correttamente altrimenti la macchina non può funzionare.
• Premere l’interruttore luminoso
(15) per accendere la macchina.
• Posizionare una o due tazze sulla griglia (6). Nel caso di una tazza, centrarla sotto al beccuccio di uscita
caffè (fi g.“L”).
• Attendere che l’interruttore luminoso accensione/spegnimento (15) sia acceso in modo fi sso (in caso
contrario la pompa non viene azionata), quindi ruotare la manopola (17) nella posizione ”

l’erogazione dal beccuccio del portafi ltro.
• Per terminare l’erogazione del caffè, ruotare nuovamente la manopola (17) nella posizione

Terminata l’erogazione del caffè, svuotare il fi ltro (12 o 13) dalla polvere di caffè e risciacquarlo
abbondantemente unitamente al portafi ltro (10). Scuotere dopo il risciacquo i due componenti per
eliminare eventuali residui di acqua.
8 grammi*= circa 3-4 cucchiaini da caffè.
14 grammi*= circa 6-8 cucchiaini da caffè.

3b - Utilizzo delle cialde
Utilizzare cialde adatte a macchine per caffè espresso tipo “bar”.
Assicurarsi che ci sia suffi ciente acqua nel serbatoio (5).
Non utilizzare la macchina senza acqua nel serbatoio (5).
(17) sia nella posizione Accertarsi che la manopola

• Rimuovere il portafi ltro (10) dal suo alloggiamento.
• Posizionare nel portafi ltro (10) il fi ltro (14) (fi g.“M”), facendo attenzione a far combaciare le alette del fi ltro
“C1” con le fessure del portafi ltro ”C2” (fi g. “C”).
• Posizionare la cialda nel fi ltro (14) centrandola (fi g.“N”), avendo cura di riporre all’interno del portafi ltro le
eventuali linguette in carta della cialda.
• Inserire il portafi ltro (10) nel suo alloggiamento (fi g.“E”).
E’ necessario, inserire il portafi ltro correttamente altrimenti la macchina non può funzionare.
• Premere l’interruttore luminoso
(15) per accendere la macchina.
• Posizionare una tazza sulla griglia (6). Centrarla sotto al beccuccio di uscita caffè (fi g.“L”).
• Attendere che l’interruttore luminoso accensione/spegnimento (15) sia acceso in modo fi sso (in caso
contrario la pompa non viene azionata), quindi ruotare la manopola (17) nella posizione ”

Terminata l’erogazione del caffè togliere la cialda e risciacquare abbondantemente il fi ltro (14) ed il
portafi ltro (10). Scuotere dopo il risciacquo i due componenti per eliminare eventuali residui di acqua.
3c - Utilizzo delle capsule
Utilizzare esclusivamente capsule in alluminio Bialetti.
Assicurarsi che ci sia suffi ciente acqua nel serbatoio (5).
Non utilizzare la macchina senza acqua nel serbatoio (5).

• Posizionare nel portafi ltro (10) il porta capsule (11) (fi g.“O”) , facendo attenzione a far combaciare le alette

• Inserire una capsula in alluminio Bialetti, (fi g.“P”).
• Inserire il portafi ltro (10) nel suo alloggiamento (fi g.“E”).

E’ necessario, inserire il portafi ltro correttamente altrimenti la macchina non può funzionare.
• Premere l’interruttore luminoso
(15) per accendere la macchina.
• Posizionare una tazza sulla griglia (6). Centrarla sotto al beccuccio di uscita caffè (fi g.“L”).
• Attendere che l’interruttore luminoso accensione/spegnimento (15) sia acceso in modo fi sso (in caso
contrario la pompa non viene azionata), quindi ruotare la manopola (17) nella posizione ”

Dopo l’utilizzo, le superfi ci del gruppo di erogazione e la capsula auto conservante, appena
utilizzata, sono calde.
Pericolo di scottatura

Terminata l’erogazione del caffè togliere la capsula e risciacquare abbondantemente il porta capsule
(11) ed il portafi ltro (10). Scuotere dopo il risciacquo i due componenti per eliminare eventuali residui di
acqua
4 ....CONSIGLI
• Per ottenere un caffè più caldo preriscaldare le tazzine erogando acqua calda dal portafi ltro vuoto (senza
caffè).
• Utilizzare sempre caffè di ottima qualità.
• Il grado di macinazione del caffè è fondamentale per il corretto funzionamento della macchina e della
qualità della bevanda.
Un grado di macinazione troppo grosso può determinare un’erogazione del caffè troppo veloce mentre
un grado di macinazione troppo fi ne può determinare un’erogazione troppo lenta.
• L’assenza della caratteristica schiuma può essere causata da:
- grado di macinazione del caffè non corretto;
- tostatura del caffè non ottimale;
- macchina non suffi cientemente calda,
- pressione del caffè non corretta;
- caffè scadente o di vecchia data;
• Per una bevanda della massima qualità, si consiglia di lasciare riscaldare la macchina per circa 3 min.
con il portafi ltro vuoto inserito nella macchina prima dell’utilizzo.

CONSIGLI
• Per riscaldare liquidi, utilizzare sempre recipienti piuttosto alti e stretti senza riempirli eccessivamente.
• Prima di estrarre il montalatte (9) ruotare manopola (17) sulla posizione ”
”.
• Per ottenere una schiumatura consistente del latte (cappuccino), non immergere troppo a fondo il montalatte
(9) ed eseguire dei movimenti lenti in su ed in giù per “interessare” tutta la superfi cie del latte (fi g.“S”).
• Per ottenere una buona schiumatura utilizzare latte freddo o a temperatura ambiente.
Dopo ogni riscaldamento di liquido, in modo particolare se latte, erogare del vapore per qualche secondo
in un recipiente vuoto.

MANUTENZIONE
PULIZIA
Prima di effettuare l’operazione di pulizia, disinserire
SEMPRE la spina dalla presa di corrente.
Non immergere mai il corpo apparecchio (1)
in acqua o altri liquidi ne lavare in lavastoviglie.

PULIZIA APPARECCHIO
• Per la pulizia del corpo apparecchio (1) usare un panno umido
evitando l’impiego di detersivi abrasivi.
• Dopo ogni utilizzo pulire il portafi ltro (10) ed il fi ltro utilizzato sotto il getto d’acqua del rubinetto per eliminare
i residui di polvere di caffè.
Eventualmente, utilizzando uno spazzolino a setole morbide, pulire a fondo la parte esterna e interna del
fi ltro utilizzato (fi g.“U”).
Non utilizzare oggetti metallici di diametro grosso quali aghi, chiodi, etc che potrebbero
rovinare il fi ltro.
• Pulire periodicamente con un panno umido la sede del portafi ltro (fi g.“V”) per eliminare eventuali resi-
dui di caffè.
• Dopo ogni utilizzo del montalatte (9), pulirlo con una spugna umida.
• Periodicamente:
- Rimuovere la griglia (6) e la vaschetta di raccolta (7) e lavarli con normali detergenti per stoviglie.
- Svuotare l’acqua presente nel serbatoio (5),sciacquarlo ed asciugarlo.
• La pulizia di tutti i componenti, , può essere effettuata con ad eccezione del corpo apparecchio (1)
acqua tiepida e normali detergenti per stoviglie.
Non lavare il portafi ltro (10) in lavastoviglie per evitare il danneggiamento.

GENERAL WARNINGS
Read these instructions carefully as they contain important information about safe installation, use
and maintenance. Keep this manual with care for future reference.
• After removing the packaging, and before using the appliance, make sure the appliance and all the
accessories are working well. Likewise, the electrical plug and sheath should not be cracked or broken.
If the conditions described above are observed, immediately unplug the appliance from mains outlet and
take it to an authorized After-Sales Service Centre for necessary checking.
• The packing materials (plastic bags, expanded polystyrene, nails, etc) should be kept away from children
since they are potential sources of danger.
• Before connecting the appliance, make sure the line voltage is correct. The tag is located on the bottom
of the body of the appliance.
• If the plug does not fi t into the wall outlet, have the wall outlet replaced with another type by a qualifi ed
electrician. He must also check that the cord is suitable for the power absorbed by the appliance. In general,
it is not advisable to use an adaptor, multiple socket or an extension cord. If they are necessary, use only
simple or multiple adaptors and extension cords that conform to safety regulations, being careful not to
exceed the load limits indicated on the adaptor and the extension cord, and the maximum power indicated
on the multiple adapto
The appliance must be powered by means of a differential circuit breaker with an operating
current of no more than 30 mA.
The appliance must only be connected to the electrical system with a grounded plug.
Avoid unplugging the appliance by pulling on the electrical cord.
While operating, the electrical socket must be easily accessible should it be necessary to
unplug the appliance.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• The use of any electrical appliance implies observance of certain fundamental rules.

- do not touch the appliance with wet or damp hands;

• If you decide not to use the appliance of this type anymore, it is recommended that you make it inoperable
by cutting off the mains cord after removing the plug from the mains outlet.
You should also render harmless those parts of the appliance that could be dangerous, especially for

Installation must be performed according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Incorrect

WARNINGS REGARDING THE CORRECT USE OF THE APPLIANCE
This appliance has been designed to make espresso coffee, steam and hot water for do-
mestic use and must only be used for this purpose.
Any other use would be improper and therefore dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be
held responsible for any damage deriving from improper, incorrect or unreasonable uses

• Set the appliance on a fl at, even, and stable surface.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended while turned on.
Do not leave the appliance in environments where the temperature is equal to or less than 0° C.

If the appliance will be not be used for an extended time period, empty the water tank (5).
• Upon initial installation the machine could emit burnt odors due to the insulating materials and the heating
elements: this is normal.
Do not use the appliance when the water tank is empty (5).
• Do not move the appliance when in use.
While beverage is being delivered watch out for any spurts of hot liquid.
Do not touch hot machine parts [steam wand (8), cappuccino maker (9), etc.] immediately
after using machine.
Danger of scalding .
Do not remove fi lter-holder (10) during delivery.
When dispensing steam from steam wand (8) always use tall containers and protect hands
with gloves or use pot-holders to avoid scalding .

PREPARING THE MACHINE
Before connecting the appliance into the main electrical socket make sure that the switch
(15) is in “off” position and that the dial (17) is in position “ ”.
• Place the appliance on a fl at, stable surface.
• Raise the lid (4) and fi ll the tank (5) with cold water (max. amount 800 ml) (fi g.“D”).
Never use the appliance unless there is water in the tank (5) or if the water level is less than MIN level
indicated on the tank.
• While using the machine, the tank (5) can be fi lled or topped up by simply lifting the cover (4) (fi g.“D”), and
taking care to not exceed the maximum level as indicated.
• Connect the appliance into the mains socket ensuring that the features of the mains power outlet comply
with the technical data on the data plate located on the bottom of the appliance.

In order to make a good cup of coffee at the right temperature, the machine must be properly heated.

3 ....MAKING COFFEE
3a - Using ground coffee
Use ground coffee suitable for machines for “bar”- type espresso coffee.
Check that there is enough water in tank (5).
Do not use machine if there is no water in tank (5).

• Remove fi lter holder (10) from its housing.
• Place desired fi lter inside fi lter holder (10), making sure to fi t the tabs on the side of the fi lter “C1” into the
slots in the fi lter holder ”C2” (fi g. “C”).
- “12” for one cup (fi g.“F”)
- “13” for two cups (fi g.“G”).
• If using fi lter for one cup (12), with a teaspoon, fi ll with about 8 grams* coffee or if a two cup fi lter (13) is
being used, fi ll with about 14 grams* coffee (fi g.”H”).
• Lightly press the coffee in the fi lter down with a teaspoon (fi g.“I”).
• Insert the fi lter holder (10) into its housing (fi g.“E”).
The fi lter holder needs to be inserted correctly, otherwise the machine cannot operate.

Press the on/off switch
(15) to turn the machine on.
• Place one or two cups onto the grill (6). If only one cup is being used, place it in the centre of the grill under
the coffee delivery spouts (fi g.“L”).
• Wait for the lit ON/OFF switch
(15) to light up and stay on (if not, the pump will not start), then turn
the dial (17) to position ”

3b - Using pods
Use pods suitable for machines for “bar”- type espresso coffee.
Check that there is enough water in tank (5).

• Insert fi lter holder (10) into its housing (fi g.“E”).

Danger of scalding

When delivery of coffee is over, remove cap and rinse cap holder (11) and fi lter holder (10) thoroughly.
After rinsing, shake both parts in order to eliminate any residual water.
4 ....TIPS
• For a warmer cup of coffee, dispense hot water from empty fi lter holder (without coffee in it) to preheat
coffee cup.
• Always use top quality coffee.
• Grinding is fundamental for proper machine functioning and for the quality of your coffee.
Ground coffee which is thickly ground can make coffee delivery too fast while a degree of grinding that
is too fi ne can lead to coffee delivery which is too slow.
• If there is none of the coffee’s characteristic ‘foam’, this could be due to:
- degree of grinding not correct;
- not optimal toasting of coffee beans;
- machine not hot enough;
- pressure of coffee not correct;
- poor quality coffee or old, stale coffee;
• To make the best possible cup of coffee, the machine should be allowed to warm up for about 3 min.with
empty fi lter holder hooked to the machine before using.

Every time any kind of liquid has been heated, especially milk, dispense steam for a few seconds into
an empty container.
